So lets say we can resign him for $3-3.5M for 1-2 years, would you sign him? I would. He's slightly overpriced right now, not by much, but a little. For us, that's an acceptable overpayment for a product we've been trying hard to find, so if we could sign him for a bit less, it's even better to me. Then he can help next couple years to teach the young guys a few things that no one else on our D can do.

I'd resign him for 2 years at $2.5M tops. He's getting old and hasn't convinced me that he can play at a high level up to age 39..

Well...TB really needed goaltending, and obviously the prices are high at the deadline this year. Personally I love Conacher but it's not like Tampa has problems scoring goals.

Oh I thought Bishop was a UFA after this season, yeah its an alright deal then (although Conacher has oodles of potential) but they gave up a lot on their other monster goalie, what if both of these guys do not pan out?

Sure hope Zids is going no where. He's the only pmd we have. Atleast offensively, he's not afraid to
shoot the dam thing, plus he's faster than any of our other d-men. I would definatly sign for fair value

Yeah, Bishop is RFA, so it's not too bad since they're near guaranteed to sign him for next year. Plus OTT has Lehner as their young goalie of the future and Anderson to hold down the fort until then.

Conacher is real overrated and TB has plenty of skill forwards.  Still, Bishop is only under team control for one more year.

Conacher is 23 already, and after putting up 12 points in his first 7 GP, he's put up 12 in the 28 GP since.  Also has a 17.0 shooting%, which seems like it will come down.  He only has 35 GP in the NHL to date, but I don't see him as a big-time prospect...seems like a guy who's never going to live up to that hot start.

THE NHL MUST LOVE THE DEVILS - from who else? A RANGER fan!
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!

Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime?
- Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.

Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.

It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.
