I'm surprised at how much Parise anomosity there is on the board now.. I seem to recall a not-to-distant past where (at least) half of you were praising his  awesomeness and declaring how you'd like to keep him instead of Kovy etc. Times sure change. :P

It's all Lundqvist...the Rags are surprisingly quick but don't have pure shooters. But Zuccarello, Hagelin...those annoying little pests can create opportunities in a hearbeat. It's just that they often don't finish.

The Rangers are also alarmingly soft. They are prone to getting beat up on the boards and that has led to some long Caps cycles in their zone where Lundqvist has bailed them out

If the Rangers win this series any of the remaining 3 can easily grind them down to dust.

Trade Lundqvist for God sakes, I actually feel for him. What a pathetic team he is on.

Parise was well on his way to being one of the top most beloved Devils. What he did stung, but in the future he will be remembered more fondly because he vanished out west rather than sign with the Rags and rub it in our faces

People forget, Gomez was too. We loved that obnoxious smirk and playmaking talents. He'd won two cups with us and was rapidly moving up our scoring charts

I don't. Let the misery continue.

lundy proves every game why he is one of the best goalies in the league.  Without him, the Rags would have been blown out tonight, and a lot of nights.

Thank god the caps won this one!

lets go caps!!

It's hard to feel for him after his victory lap in '08 lol, but we did get him back last year so the animosity isn't there as much now.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

It cracks me up when Nash skates backwards towards the goalie with the puck, he actually thinks he will score with his ass towards the goal lmao. The man has all the talent to be one of the greats but he sucks because he has ZERO hockey IQ. What an abysmal postseason he is having.

Good.  Hope it continues into the next game.

Why in the world does Nash always turn his back to the net when he enters the offensive zone with the puck?

Wouldn't be surpised if Lundqvist signs with a team like Chicago or Minnesota after next season.

No. He likes the attention, he likes being Mr. GQ New York strutting around everywhere acting like a Gordon Gekko level douche.

Anyone else notice on the Ward goal tonight, the position of the players were eerily similar to the Kolvalchuk goal in game 6 of the conference finals last year? Just executed differently.

An Oates special play.

I'll update when the vid comes up on youtube for Ward's.

"Adam Oates is the New Jersey Devils assistant coach in charge of the power play, which was 2-for-20 against the New York Rangers eading into Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final. It's entirely possible he will carry around this Ilya Kovalchuk goal in his wallet, showing it to complete strangers and telling them how gorgeous it is."

If you watch the highlights on NHL.com, Doc had a great THEY SCORRRREEE call on the Ribiero winner. You can tell he really enjoyed it. Definitely wouldn't have put as much oomph in it had the Rags won.

That must blow for St Louis fans, dropping 4 in a row to the Kings in back-to-back postseasons, esp after the Blues looked like they had turned things around after games 1 & 2. If Anaheim defends their home ice in game 7, it'll be a SoCal series next round. Either way though, the Kings are protected from facing Chicago until round 3. They'll get a divisional opponent next round.

This is hilarious. He has said quite a few times that he loves being in a city as big as NY where he can walk around and mind his business a lot of time. You put him in almost any other city in the league and he is the biggest star in that town.

Lundqvist is one of the most likable players in the league. Definitely wouldn't call him a douche.

"The Stanley Cup has fallen from the Stars. The new millennium has its first Stanley Cup Champion, and it's the New Jersey Devils." Mike Miller calling the Devils winning the Stanley Cup.

"It goes to the captain and then there are handoffs during a skate around the ice" Mike Emrick as Scott Stevens is being presented the Stanley Cup.

Henrik's a really nice guy. People just give him grief 'cause he likes fashion and nice clothes, assuming he's a jerk.

That being said, I thoroughly enjoy seeing him giving up huge goals and being down about it in the post-game.

Check out the news and injuries coming from the Habs today after their first round exit:

Lars Eller says he has no recollection of the 10 minutes of his life after the hit. Can't remember the hit or trying to get up - nothing.

Ryan White had a punctured lung.

White had a punctured lung the period before he fought Cowan.

He had no air when he fought with a hole in his lung.

Prust did pop his own rib back in. He also says his shoulder needs a scope. Never healed after TB initial contact.

Gionta bicep. Pacioretty shoulder. Prust rib shoulder. Price knee. White lung. Bouillon finger. Eller brain.

Playoff hockey baby!
