Just checking to see if their are any other RU die hards out there. Although Rutgers does their best job to take a few years off of my life, I still keep managing to come back for more.

Huge draft weekend for RU with 7 picks in the draft, better than anyone in the new Big Ten.

Made it out to both blackout games last year, UConn and Louisville. Took the trip down to Orlando over winter break with a bunch of buddies for a few days and caught the Russell Athletic Bowl. That was certainly an awesome experience despite the terrible game itself.

Hopefully Nova takes steps of improvement this year, as his stretch to end the season spoiled one of the best defenses in the country from getting the recognition they deserved.

VERY excited for Arkansas coming to town this year. Should be a great atmosphere.

Huge fan here.  I was a Rutgers student from 2005 to 2010 and still live nearby in Highland Park.  I made it to almost every home game during my time as a student and now I make it to about two games a season.  It would be nice if alumni got a discount, especially if you went to a ton of games as a student but oh well.

The 2006 Louisville game is my favorite sports memory, but this past season's Louisville game is probably my most gut-wrenching sports memory.  That ineligible receiver penalty on the fake field goal touchdown was 100% wrong and completely changed the game, but if they didn't suck so bad in the second half they would have won regardless.  I still have my ticket stub from the 2006 game in my wallet, I will never forget the chaos of student ticket distribution, waiting overnight in a jampacked mob scene at the box office.  Of course I got there after Schiano showed up with pizza for us haha.

Looks like it could be some time before they do some damage in the Big 10 with Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan in their division, so hopefully they can pull off a Big East championship this year although their defense probably won't be as good and Louisville will probably be even better.  Looking forward to taking road trips to Michigan and Ohio State though!

Same thing, referring to the gut wrenching memory. I was a freshman in high school in 2006 and I always had a soft spot for Rutgers going to games with Pop Warner as a kid - but after that it was all RU to me. I don't go to RU as their education/special education program would have kept me in school 2+ years than I needed but my best friend does and the Scarlet Fever store next to College Ave might as well be my second home.

I'll always have a special connection to the field itself, lucky enough to have played two games in high school on that field.

But man, yeah, Louisville last year was so depressing. Everything was setup so perfectly through 2+ quarters. Then the offense self destructs and the whole team crawled into a shell after that fake field goal was called back. Fvck, still drives me nuts thinking how close it was. 21-0 would have been game over with this defense, hell 14-0 would have been fine if not for Turnova putting their back against the wall.

Even more depressing was the performance in the RA Bowl. 10 points directly from the defense. And the offense managed to choke the game away. It's just depressing knowing how freaking good that defense was and that they will never really be remembered. Oh well, I just hope Flood has a tighter leash on the QB position this year, Nova not sitting in the 4th at the RA Bowl after that performance was down right inexcusable.

Yeah the end of the season was a disaster.  Another thing we didn't mention is that if they would have just taken care of business against stinkin' Pittsburgh the week before, they would have had the Big East and a BCS bowl already clinched before the Louisville game, but they blew that one too.  But man the place was LOUD during that first half.  I usually don't like blaming officials but I will never get over that ineligible receiver call.

The only two people who are beyond three yards of the line of scrimmage are DC Jefferson (who makes the catch despite being dragged to the ground while running his route with no holding penalty being called) and Beau Bachety, who is eligible as a tight end.  The flag was thrown on Devon Watkis, who clearly isn't three yards away from the line of scrimmage.  It is also aggravating that the umpire doesn't throw the flag until after he sees Jefferson catch the ball and then land in the end zone, and then decides he has to do something about it so he makes up this ineligible receiver disgrace.

There was also a fumble that was ruled an incomplete pass after a Louisville receiver caught the ball, started running, and then dropped it while moving the ball to his other hand so he can stiff-arm a defender.  Also a ridiculous personal foul called on Khaseem Greene when he bumped a Louisville player who had just barely stepped out of bounds but kept running as if he was in and the whistle wasn't blown yet.  Greene didn't even knock him down, just pushed him out of bounds.  There was also a Louisville player who spiked the ball after converting a third down and there was no call on that.  Atrocious officiating.

Damn dude, I erased (partially from pregaming harder than I ever had in my life, haha) everything but the Fake FG from my mind, but I distinctly remember them converting that long third down and then there was the spike now. I was 10-15 rows up on the goal line where DC caught that...

After that, the whole stadium was a sulk fest. I mean on Louisville third downs the crowd was still loud as hell but there was just that general feeling of "here we go again"

What a wild game last night. Such a prototypical "Rutgers" loss. Some things never change

Can't wait for PSU to come to town 9/13. If they win one game all year, I hope it's that one

Camp starts today. Not expecting much this year, really hoping for 6-6 and a bowl.
