I'm curious why Dan Cleary has never been mentioned as a possibility.  He's getting up there is years, but you might be able to sign him for something reasonable.

Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.
How do you spot risk? How do you avoid risk? And what makes it so risky?

I would have no complaints with Cleary as a third line option. Doesn't really replace Clarkson though.

He would replace Poni and probably cost more. I look at someone like Cleary as someone that we pick up late in free agency after other options have been exhausted. I'd rather take a shot at someone like Mason Raymond for the same role who is a little younger and a bit more upside.

Like I said, I really would like a guy like Galiardi. He's 25, he's a LW. He plays with an edge and can put up points.

And the Leafs just continue with the stupid

Dreger:

Bozak contract talks expected to resume today with Leafs. Proposal on the table believed to be 8 years at less than $5 mil per.

8 years for Tyler Bozak lololo

Lot of wear on his body and he fills the same role Dainius Zubrus does as a catch-all player who doesn't do much great but who doesn't do much poorly.  Also had a giant drop in his numbers.  I don't want any part of a Detroit free agent (except Ian White)

Toronto is not Clarkson's only potential destination. There's plenty of stupid GMs outside of Ontario.

I'm real surprised Damien Brunner hasn't re-signed in Detroit yet, I think he'd be a good fit here if NJ got rid of Zidlicky - I believe he plays the point on the PP.  5 forwards is always a bit dicey but NJ's done it some years and it hasn't killed them.

Peter Mueller didn't get a QO from Florida - they would like to re-sign him, but starting at midnight he can talk to other teams.  I think he's a perfect Clarkson replacement (except for all his injuries).

Lou does seem to like to grab former high draft picks who became more role players.

Your unconditional rejection of violence makes you smugly think of yourselves as noble, as enlightened, but in reality it is nothing less than abject moral capitulation to evil. Unconditional rejection of self-defense, because you think its a supposed surrender to violence, leaves you no resort but begging for mercy or offering appeasement.

Benn Ferriero non-tendered - he was a teammate of Gionta, Harrold, and Schneider at BC.

Dreger is just pumping Clarkson's tires, I think he has a relationship with the agency.    Let's put it this way, if he does have 20, about 19 of them won't be for $45-46M
