Technically he could agree in principle I suppose. And surprise surprise Toronto suddenly has more cap space than anyone other than the Isles. They'll be this year's Wild - overpay Clarkson, Bozak and some other big name.

Josh Rimer just said they're talking to Weiss, Clarkson, and Ribeiro. Thinks they can sign two of them.

"Mikhael Grabovski on unconditional waivers"

Any interest?

We're flush with centers, but I still wouldn't mind having him.

Yeah, this - I don't like Josefson on the wing, but Grabovski is really good.  Someone smart will sign him (Dynamo Minsk, probably).

I think it will be Weiss and Clarkson going to Toronto together.

I wouldn't be averse to picking up Grabovski and using one of our other centers (Josefson perhaps as opposed to Henrique who fits better at wing) in a package to get a winger.  I'm not sold on Loktionov as a long-term solution and value.  I want to see how he fits in here over a full season.  His chemistry with Kovy really helps him in that regard however.

Come on Lou! Boyes and Briere!

Boyes is terrible.  Him and Briere together would be awful.

Boyes has fallen off, but he had a good season in NYI.

So good, that they have zero interest in bringing him back.

Since Elias is back and let's assume Clarkson is gone what does out line-up look like?

Boyes had 35 points in 48 games and had a shooting % of 10.3. How is that terrible?

That would be awesome since that trade is completely impossible

He played with Tavares.  When he was relegated to one of the lower lines, he was absolutely useless.

That deal probably won't kick in until next year, when the cap will be higher. So not really.

He didn't look like no elite player last season. Jagr made him what he was two seasons ago. Id take Claude but he over hyped

I think he could be successful on a line with Zubrus and Elias. I don't see any other practical and realistic UFAs out there

Maybe.

But is the point to be just throwing names against a wall?  What's the point.  A player has to fit and provide something.  Boyes has been passed around a bit now the last few years.  Huge red flag to me.  We need quality and productivity of forwards, not quantity of forwards.

And you can bet Boyes is going to try and turn his year with Tavares into a higher payday than he'd probably normally see or deserve.
