caron14 Posted June 17, 2013 Share Posted June 17, 2013 CBC reports that the Devils are one of several teams who may target Stephen Weiss if he becomes available on the free agent market in less than 2 weeks. It is believed, per CBC, that Weiss would be more willing to go to New Jersey because of his ties with current Devils coach Peter DeBoer, who also coached Weiss in Florida. JWomp Posted June 18, 2013 Share Posted June 18, 2013 There's a HUGE difference between what Friedman wrote (that the Devils are a "possible destination" for Weiss) and the Devils actually wanting Weiss or having interest in him. I'm pretty sure Friedman and/or his sources are just making an assumption that Weiss might be a good fit in NJ because of Deboer.
