I was wondering if anyone has heard who might be the next assistant coach for the Devils to replace Shaw. I am hoping its Sergei Brylin. What does everyone else think?

this is one place where Lou pulls a rabbit out of a hat...I never expected Oats a few years ago , and bam there he was.

Not sure if he'll go with an ex Devil player...maybe Debo will have some suggestions ? we'll see soon.

Your unconditional rejection of violence makes you smugly think of yourselves as noble, as enlightened, but in reality it is nothing less than abject moral capitulation to evil. Unconditional rejection of self-defense, because you think its a supposed surrender to violence, leaves you no resort but begging for mercy or offering appeasement.

I'd love Paul Maurice, personally. He's a good friend of Pete's, I always thought they may work well together.

Shaw wasn't behind the bench in the literal sense.

(So how many of you have been driven INSANE by everyone using "literally" as much as a Valley girl uses "like"? )

My priority is to do something about the misuse of "begs the question" instead of "raises the question", and describing a coincidence as "ironic" (isn't it ironic that Seth Jones' father played basketball in Denver and he might be drafted by the Avalanche).

I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring here, and add my personal pet peeve:  "I could care less."

Dude...if you could care less, that means you care a little.

It's couldn't care less.

Ugh...just makes me wanna...ooh...

"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness."

Yeah, agreed, but why are you throwing hats in a ring? Waste of a perfectly good hat if you ask me.

I agree, but somehow I am sensing it will be Sarge.

I'd be cool with Sarge. Very good hockey IQ, he might make a pretty good coach.
