Maybe they'll stick us with Carolina or CBJ as our opener to try to add juice to a new forced 'division' rivalry.

We already have a sorta-rivalry with Carolina...now that they are in our division that will be enhanced even more. Columbus? I really couldn't see myself hating them to be honest...

I have absolutely no desire to hate Columbus. It'll happen eventually, but they've overtaken Phoenix as my preferred Western Conference team over the last few years.

My new Western team is the Ducks, for the record (Selanne/Koivu).

the only emotion i can feel for Columbus is probably just some sort of pity.

and i can't really see myself hating a new team just because they're in our division

I was actually leaning toward Dallas until the trade they pulled off. I liked the young kids they had going in Smith and Fraser and I really like the way Dillon plays. The new jerseys added to it but then they had to go and bring in a bunch of Bruins and now I'm not so sure.

Mostly people are curious about the home opener, Ranger/Flyer/Penguin games and maybe a few other things. I kind of want to know when the Kings/Wild are coming in too.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Well it'll certainly test this team out of the gate.  Longest road trip of the year to essentially start the season?  Why not.

I don't like the names at all. Why couldn't we be in the Atlantic still?

good that we dont have alot of home games 1st half of season, when our attendance usually stinks.

That's totally not gonna confuse everyone....I hate the NHL sometimes.

If you're gonna make new names, might as well make new names instead of whatever this is. Not to mention it's kind of a one of these things is not like the other when it comes to specifically describing the general location of the teams. Also, Metropolitan is just too long.
