I don't think I've ever been this depressed over this team....

what makes it astronomically worse is the fact we dont even have a first this year to ease the suffering in June

1:42 2-man advantage. We probably still won't score.

This team blows.

I remember the losing teams back in the 80's....they were bad.....but at least they would score goals and give you some hope

I can't wait to see how the schneider situation evolves..

At the rate it's going he'll be playing a majority of games down the stretch anyway since there'll be nothing left to play for.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Breaking down Ottawa's 3rd goal, followed by a chat with the great Peter Harrold. It doesn't get better than that for intermission entertainment.

Too old. Too slow. Too soft. Too sloppy. Too predictable. Too easy to beat in the circle. Too pathetic. Too easy to control.

Anyone care to add?

I thought the whole point of a veteran team was they could overcome adversity. These guys are the biggest headcases we've had in a while. Panic when they get scored on first. Panic with the lead.

It's like the Senators are saying "We'll beat you with one hand tied behind our backs".

By the way, if anyone that sees this works for MSG, I do broadcast audio and I can do a much better job than the guy you have working this game tonight. I would like a job.

This is sooooo frustrating. It's amazing how bad we look out there.

I really don't want to blame this on PDB though, I'm starting to really believe that we're not that good of a team. We were a little overrated on this board but I didn't think it was this bad. There is no hope on this team right now.

I can't put in words how much I don't want to hear the words Stephen Matteau. The decision to draft that year looks even worse now than it did at the time, which I didn't think was possible

I was a little kid back then, saw my first game in '85- they sucked back then. I remember them being horrible, but I was only 6 when I started watching the Devils, so I don't remember much else other than the fact that they didn't win much when I started watching. I have vague early memories of Alain Chevrier being the starting goaltender lol.

This roster is not bad.  This roster should easily be a playoff team.  Only a buffoon could fail with this roster.

The difference is those teams knew they weren't all that good. The coaches and front office did too. The hope was to have young players improve and build an identity and grow. This team is built with the opposite in mind under the false illusion they are not only a playoff team but a team that can advance a round or two.
