I thought he made some nifty plays in the preseason, but reg season did nothing. Almost less than Brunner does now...

I'm pretty bummed about this. I really wanted him to succeed here. Maybe I'm in the minority, but I thought he showed some promise when he was given some top 6 time. I wonder where he'd be now if he were given the full-time 4th line position he probably deserved. It was a pretty pointless signing if he was never going to be given much of a chance.

He had no hands, no vision and was too slow so he couldn't really hit anyone... let's keep it real.

My thinking is locker room cancer or he requested the split from the Devils. In the AHL he had 1G, 3A in 5GP. Good enough for the AHL atleast. PDB may have gotten to him?

He's always been good enough for the AHL, at least the last two years.  He's what you would call in baseball terms an AAAA player, not good enough to stick in the bigs but too good for the minors.  He might as well go overseas though I can't imagine playing in Switzerland is that much more luxurious than the minor leagues in North America.

Probably pays better. Less travel I bet too.

No harm no foul and now he can play hockey in a place that he might succeed. I wonder if he'll give it a shot for next season in the NHL

He'd definitely be in the NHL if his name were Rusty O'Less from Sudbury, Ontario.  He's good enough to play in this league, but he wasn't particularly good for NJ and they went in a different direction.  If the Devils don't sign Brunner, I think Olesz is still here.

I always assumed PDB was the only reason he was here. He coached him in Florida.

Too bad it didn't work out and good luck to him in the Swiss league.

This plus he's closer to his native country and it's a shorter season. I wish him the best.

I had high hopes for him. I really thought he has a nice skillset and never really had a chance to get comfortable, which is important.  I was hoping to see a Olesz Carter Bernier line.

I hope he does well overseas.  He'll make his way back to the show.

So.. On this note!!

My friend and I were just talking about how Scott Stevens would kick his ass (he's Capt of his league team and they're the same age) -- he was fixing a coffee while we were talking --- and "scott Stevens, he could beat me with with biceps alone man, you know with.. with other parts too I'm sure, if you know what I mean" and his minicup of cream exploded squirting all over... HILARIOUS!

so he added -- "damm, Im banned from Sochi."

(we also were just saying how Russian would kick ass in the Olympics - but at least Kovalchuk is banned from the team... because of his orientation and all... and stuff... haha.. ha...  get it?  'cause he's a 'mo and stuff...?? )
