Just an absolutely uninspired effort. Something has to change, but it won't. I think this forum is past the "fire PDB" phase (hfboards sure as hell isn't, wow) but something needs to change.

Also Volch and Salvador leading the D in ice time. Granted, there's been substantial PK time but.. fvck is that frustrating. They're such a waste of space.

Well thats pretty much it. Makes it worse that the rangers won

They didn't just win - they pounded the Leafs. The kind of win that gets a team going.

This is why this team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs. Embarrassing effort, and again, you score 1 goal for Cory.

fvcking embarrassing.

Oh and not to mention, Cory won't play again for two weeks since he lost this game.

THE NHL MUST LOVE THE DEVILS - from who else? A RANGER fan!
[Mark Messier]: A big, bald attention whore with a stupid Easter Island-lookin face. - from who else? DaneykoIsGod!

Even when Marty comes back maybe Larry should put Clemmensen to be on the goal during the shootouts.
Can the coach do that ? Switch the goalies 5 seconds to go in overtime?
- Most priceless quote ever posted on a message board.

Martin Brodeur: THE MOST ALL-TIME WINS!, 12 straight seasons of 30+ wins, 3 Stanley Cups, 4 Vezina Trophies, and zero respect from too many so-called Devils "fans" who are either too young or too bandwagon to remember the much darker days of Sean Burke, Craig Billington, Bob Sauve, Alain Chevrier, and the talented but overwhelmed Chico Resch, among many others.

It's easy to support a great player when he's playing at his very best. It takes a true fan to support that same player during those rare moments and stretches when he's not. Babe Ruth went 0-4 some games, and sometimes Wayne Gretzky was held pointless. There may be such a thing as greatness, but no such thing as absolute perfection every single night.

For scheniders sake we should have just drafted nichushkin. Schneider wouldn't have to be put through this every game and we would have scoring help.

I can live with losses like last night but we should have won this game.

lol seriously?  He's supposed to stop two power play goals when players are wide open in front of the net?  Funny how the D didn't really improve without Gelinas.  He's supposed to score goals?

And the last time we did play the Sabres he did shut them out, and it took 64 minutes to get a win out of THAT game.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

I'm not saying it's why we lost, but the refs really fvcked up this game. Only giving Tyler Myers 2 for that brutal hit to the head AND washing out a goal as an added favor to them, then calling Zubrus for 2 for a light shove with Myers flopping down to the ice like a fish? Give me a break. Devils should have done more to secure a victory against a bad team but the officiating still really pissed me off.

Another Schneider start, another 2 GA, another loss. Come on, Devils.

Can change the coach tommorow, but can't change the talent and leadership. This one is on the players, not the coach. As much as i wouldn't mind Pete on the unemployment line, this one isn't on him. A coach can prepare players so much then it's up to the players to be prepared and they played down to an opponent. Well, pretty soon, the Devils can look forward to opponents playing down to them.
