If I'm Pete I pull the goalie and try 5 on 3 to prevent a shootout.

Jk. Kinda.

That's 7 overtime wins! By 7 different scorers I think too.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Kinda anticlimactic seeing it here, damnit.

Really glad Elias got the game winner tonight. Did Jagr get a point on that play?

They're shutdown guys, I'd prefer guys like them out there rather than Zid, Greene, Fayne and Gelly.

I say guys like them, because they're not very good at their jobs. Volch is passable but Salvador is useless. Watch him on that last play - it's a scramble but he has no clue what he's doing.

Aren't shutdown guys supposed to shut down the other team and not be on the ice for ALL of their goals? They're useless. Gimme Greene and Fayner in the last minute any day of the week.

The game tying goal was nothing more than bad puck luck.  A win is a win!

Remember when Patty and Jagr used to be tied for the all-time league lead in game-winning OT goals? Then Jagr eventually re-took the lead by a few goals at least. It's about time Patty got one. I don't think he had scored one in a long time, although I'm not sure.

I think we should get Hemsky.

Sending Gelly down would be bad since we need his offense.

Gelinas has become completely toxic in his own end though.  He needs to get his confidence back, and he ain't gonna be helped playing three minutes a night here.

And yes Salvador's toxic too but we know he's not getting benched
