I think Marty's name definitely carries weight - as does Jagr's (although he definitely has more left in the tank than Marty at this point)

I've said it before - there are plenty of stupid GMs in this league.  I seriously think Lou could get something relatively substantial for him.

Is there any realistic situation in which we get Maatta and they get Jagr?

Also, does anyone remember Gionta crushing that kid in the opener in Pittsburgh? No one ever said a word about it, no highlights or anything. I'm beginning to think I imagined it

Sure... The situation where you envision it in a drug-enduced hallucination.

About the response I expected. I'd include Gelinas or something.

Just throw this year's 5th, 6th, and the 3rd round pick from 2018 in there, that'll persuade em to do it.

@TGfirandice: Jagr said again today he doesn't want to be traded. Hasn't discussed it with Lamoriello, though.

@TGfireandice: Jagr said if Lamoriello did try to trade him, though, teams should talk to him first "to make sure I want to go there."

@TGfireandice: Jagr doesn't have no-trade, but suggested he might not go to some teams. "I have no contract. I have one month left."

Atta boy Jags!  You know Lou will comply.

...looks like I'm going to go ahead and take the opposing side on this one.

He sounds like a spoiled brat.  Sorry Jags, the Devils are about the team, not catering to your needs.  The same has been applied to Marty - if Lou finds a good deal for Jagr he should take it.  Jagr legally/contractually has no say where he can and can't go.

Lou isn't going, and isn't looking to deal them unless they want to and he doesn't. Case solved.

Lou would be a fool to not at least entertain offers for Jagr.  An absolute fool.

Your right, in that Lou might see what's available for him. Might not be much who knows. But Jagr seems to want stability now, as I said a while ago and it seems to be the case. He'll most apt finish here, playoffs or not.

Lou would be a fool to not at least entertain offers for Jagr. An absolute fool.

Where's Jagr going to get traded to that he wouldn't report anyway?  It's not like he hasn't played for half the league.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Here's a question.  If the rumors are true that St. Louis has asked for a trade, would you deal Larsson for him?  Do you think TB would agree to something like that?

Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.
How do you spot risk? How do you avoid risk? And what makes it so risky?

Noooooooooooo God no.  Too many cost-controlled, quality years left in Larsson to ship off for maybe two years of solid play from MSL.

Now, one of Gelinas/Merril?  I'd entertain that.

As the biggest Gelinas fanboy here, I'd drive Eric to the airport myself, and even pack his things for him if it meant we could get MSL.
