Rag fans and their Captain Cally BS can go take a hike now. Good player, but way overrated because of the team he plays on and the market he plays in.

If St. Louis doesn't deliver for the Rangers that fan base will turn on him FAST.

Looks like the media has made their decision on St Louis.... Strong words

Ken Campbell @THNKenCampbell 2m

Martin St-Louis, who has been a 38-year-old baby since the Olympic announcement, gets his wish by being traded to NYR. Legend tarnished.

Long-term this doesn't hurt the Rangers one bit.  They have the players to go for the Stanley Cup and now's the time.  St. Louis could play another 4 years too and all on discount contracts a la Selanne.

This is a great move for the Rangers. I don't know why they'd be upset at all. Time is now for them. Who cares about picks. Good teams don't need picks.

I really doubt it.  You can count on St. Louis having at least 3 to 4 more years of very productive play.  And it's basically a certainty that he'll re-up with the Rangers after next year.  Rags are a fairly deep team, so they don't  really need the picks.

Tampa got robbed.

An older player has about as much chance as being productive as they are hitting the age wall at that age.

I'm OK with Callahan leaving the Rangers if this is true. He's their captain after all. It could backfire on the Rangers.

He's been their captain for a few years.  And Nash will fill in quite well in that role.

Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.
How do you spot risk? How do you avoid risk? And what makes it so risky?

St.Louis to NYR makes them a threat now.

This should lead to a Tampa a losing tailspin.   Good for us.

Tough to say. St. Louis will be 39 in the offseason. It's year to year at that age, you can't predict that he'll be productive at 41-43 as very few players in NHL history have been. Next year he may turn into a 50 point powerplay specialist...then he'll be done.

Not terrible.  They could trade MSL at the deadline next year to get a 1st back.

So Washington, Philly, NYR made moves to get better. I think Lou really has to do something here

Hopefully rangers lose some leadership and heart with this trade and don't play as well.

Callahan is a grittier, tough to play against player. Nash is good but he's a different type of player. Who knows what goes on in the Rangers locker room. I guess we'll just have to see how things play out.

did Tampa not shop him anywhere else? I have a hard time believing they couldn't get a .50 PPG pending UFA and two draft picks for him from nearly every other team. I have a hard time believing he'd only go to NYR unless that came out and I missed it

I will say though, it appears as if the Rangers make the ECF, that 2nd this year turns into another 1st. So it's possible if the Rangers win two rounds this becomes a 1st in 2014 and 2015 for MSL
