Schroeder is the one ego scored a between the legs goal in the wjc a few years back, right? I read he's a definite bust though.

another organization missing on a first round pick? And a skill player at that? Impossible! Only Lou and conte's archaic scouting drafts busts!

Now I know Volchenkov being bought out gives us hope for a couple good names making the roster, but don't get your hopes up too high. It could be Gio and Cammaleri.

The Lou/Conte circle jerk is strong. :koolaid:

Ryan White didn't receive a QO. I hope that POS goes and plays overseas. TJ Galiardi didn't receive a QO from CGY either.

lol ok I admit I'm a bit of a koolaider (no secret) but i'll honestly say the recent draft history has been underwhelming. That being said, you can take many teams over the past 10 years and say the same- since Vancouver was brought up with Schroeder, over the past ten years they have two legit first round hits. It's not like we've missed out on no-brainer after no-brainer.

I'm not saying Lou is infallible, but the calls from some of the more extreme posters for him to retire/he's senile are over the top (hence my previous sarcasm).

Schroeder was also a guy who was very highly ranked in January of his draft year and fell as the season went on.

I'd take Dalpe on a big two-way deal, like a $200,000/$700,000 type deal.  Devils need right handed shots who can potentially fill in on scorelines in the NHL.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Lou go after another Czech player.

I'm just hoping Lou explores the top 6 options before signing Gionta and Carter (and Bernier?). The Devils will definitely need to subtract if they're going to add more than 1.

I'm looking at Nashville's depth chart right now. http://www.capgeek.c...rs/depth-chart/

They're comically shallow at RW.

Trading Ryder to Nashville, to play under Laviolette makes too much sense to not happen, no?

Probably the easiest way to start unloading the 2nd/3rd line RW logjam.

I have always liked Chad Larose. Not sure why he sat out last year, but I'd rather have him over Steve Bernier.

Forget about moving Ryder. This was a down year for him but it wasn't a total bottoming out like folks are claiming. Ryder still put up 18 goals despite having a long drought. He still managed to do okay with his job responsibility which is scoring goals. However of utmost significance is that Ryder is one of our few right handed shots.

Might just be me but Ryder doesn't strike me as a Laviolette-type player. Brunner seems to fit that mold better.

Preds signed Ribeiro. David Poile has done exactly what needed to be done. That market can finally enjoy a semi-decent offense for once.

Edit: Derek Roy has also been added to their roster.

feel bad for trotz, he leaves just when they finally start bringing in some offense and have some nice forward prospects ready to make the jump.

Nashville is looking very strong.  They are in great shape with their offseason changes.  Add Neal, Ribero, and Roy.  They're going to be an interesting team to watch, along with Tampa
