I am a refugee from NJO, just as many of the admins were

I don't think it will ever get that bad. I know the only problem I've ever had with this board was when the Ranger fan was I guess antagonizing everybody. But I don't think it will ever get as bad as NJO.

I guess that's the real kicker here... as long as we don't KNOW THE ACTUAL story it's wrong pig-headed and biased to start venting wrath at one side or the other, and it's why for the most I'm staying quiet on the situation.. same reason I don't scream the refs an idiot when he makes a penalty call I never saw.... I feel I can't judge something without actually seeing it

and I'm not even gonna make some wise-ass recaps comment now either cause I know what it's like to have the emotion and hear ripped out of something you did for 10 years (the lockout did that to me also)

but again without knowing the whole story I don't feel right to give he said she said, but then again also.... it makes NO sense to kill a thread that's been going on for 2+ years too and people enjoy posting in and has taken a life of it's own... just like when the Ranger trolls come in here a nd start sit you also have the right to NOT GO BACK INTO THE THREAD (just like when you see something on TV you don't like... you turn it off)... no one's pointing a gun at your head and saying ooohhhh look at this bad thing (but I'm also adamantly against censorship in any form and the only word filtered on my crappy little forum is to annoy someone who annoys us all)

I do think it SUCKS that those who are leaving are leaving, but again I can't in good conscience say something about it unless I know the whole story

Pay homage to the INCREDIBLE scoring goalie!!!! :-)

I saw CRASHER trip a kid on skates and then he stole the kids lunch money and slapped his mom when she came to pick him up.. All because the kid looked at his crease

CRASHER's official list of high stick victims from this forum:
gionta182, devilsfan26 .... WHO'S NEXT??

2005 Fantasy Football League Champion... Bow to my Football knowledge !!!!!!

TWO TIME (2005, 2006) Award Winner and the man who can show Jeremy Roenick what a REAL loudmouth is all about.... hell this mouth roars SO loud, they retired the DAMN AWARD!!!! But how do you be emotional about an award for being most emotional when you're sharing it?

2008 NJDevs Stanley Cup Winner for best overall poster... where's my damn ring?

June 6, 2007... the NHL dies just a little bit.....

I don't get the NLD bashing stuff either. I only started going in a few months ago but I don't see what the big deal is. People havee complained about young kids reading it but I don't think that is a big worry.

I have yet to see a guest reading that thread. Also, clearly we have seen a certain 14 year old member talk about possibly having sex in one 8 page thread and that person might be one of the youngest people on the board. Kids at 13 and 14 are watching porn on the internet mostly.

I am not sure how NLD ruined this site though.

I don't have too much to add that hasn't been said but I wanted to say *something*. Anyway, the primary reason this site is the premier Devils forum is because of the work of the admins. Unique features like the trade deadline stuff set this place apart. Without the active admins to do things like that I am not sure what will become of this place. I don't know what happened to take a side but recruiting people who are as good as this batch of admins will be a difficult task.

RED, you are first class, don't change. Thanks for your efforts to originate this board.

You should have been grandfathered. We don't need The Enforcer as the remaining administrator, DM should have dumped them all. That would have been a classier move considering the lack of information provide about the rift.

As a member who has been here since the NJO days, through Red's defection and on to the current incarnation of the board, I feel I should say something.

I don't know anything about what's gone on, or what the incident(s) being referred to is - I tend to stay out of the off-topic threads. As a result, I don't think I'm privy to the drama, whatever it may be. But I must say this is the best run forum that I've ever been to, with consistently interesting, articulate posters. I wouldn't come here if it wasn't for you - I love listening to myself but not enough to post 7,000+ messages hearing myself talk; I wouldn't post here without thinking I could stimulate meaningful responses from the diverse posters. Those posters include some of the recently ousted admins, and I'd hope that whatever drama has occured that they could look past it.

DM you run a great board and you invited me to be one of the first people at the newest version of the board - once I set up my PayPal account you're getting a much-deserved donation. I'm not sure why this decision has been made but I respect it. I'd like to implore the ousted admins to continue posting on the board - they make it interesting, and a great place to talk hockey. That's all it is, really - I think some view it as more than that, and it can be that too, I suppose - still, we all love the Devils and that's what brought us here in the first place. I'd hope we could see past whatever differences there are to keep that in mind.

My 2 cents:
Don- Mellow the hell out. Stop being so damn condescending when you have no clue what's going on. If you feel so strongly, stop you trivia stuff and move on.

I am no going to beg anyone to post here.........if they feel the need to move on, then let them. It's a friggin' Devils discussion board....not real life, folks.

And....what the hell is "Naughty Little Devil"?

(A) Are you having trouble reading? I've been in touch with a number of people today and I think I have a fair idea what went on. In my first post, what i said was: "Now that I've gotten a decent understanding of the situation".
(B) Are you having trouble reading? I said that I am committed to the Trivia contest - I rather enjoy running it. So much so that I buy half the prizes. In my first post, what I said was: "I don't think I want to be a part of contributing to this board beyond being a poster after the contest completion".

I'm sure there are some adult education reading classes available where you live. You might want to look into it.

But yes, I feel VERY strongly that this was a slap in the face to the very people that made this board as popular as what it is.

I feel I should say something here. First, I'm not going to discuss what happened because, to be frank, I don't think it's anyone's business. Second, guys, DM feels absolutely horrible about this. This was an extremely difficult decision for him to make. (I bolded that because it's incredibly important.) It's not like he woke up yesterday morning and said, "Yeah, I'm gonna blow out the staff and start all over, fvck 'em all." It sucks for everyone involved, but what was done had to be done. Third, the ONLY reason I'm still on the staff is because DM specifically asked me to remain so that I can help him with the board software. I never really was comfortable with being a full admin and being considered an equal to all the other guys; I only wanted to do what I'm doing now, work behind the scenes, and I guess I'm kinda happy/relieved that my role has been clarified to the point it has. I know nobody's brought that up, but I'm feeling a little quite awkward about being one of the only ones left, especially since I was the newest admin to be brought on board, so I thought I'd get that off my chest.

On a personal level, I wish it didn't have to end up like this. I especially wish RD didn't feel the need to leave this board completely, but I also understand why she's doing it. That said, RD, please come back. Even if you stay away for the rest of the season, next season won't be the same without you. I don't think there is one single person who is as synonymous with NJDevs.com as you. There are very few people who have put as much work into this site as you have, and there are very few people who are as well-liked here as you. I probably should've put this in a PM or an e-mail rather than making this a public appeal like I have, but that's how I feel. And that's not to say that I don't feel the same about Rock and Red and Has, but I know RD feels very strongly about this, so I guess that stoked my emotions as well.

Finally, to those of you who are predicting that this community will fall apart and another board will start soon where "the truth will come out", well, I don't know what to say to you. One, there are still many committed, intelligent hockey fans here and I hope they'll stick around. Second, RD and Has and Red and Rock are NOT the type of people who would run around airing dirty laundry in public, and I would be *very* surprised and dismayed if any of them were to start up another board with the intent of taking this one down.

Some of you know that I'm also an admin on one of the bigger American Hockey League message boards out there, and we're currently in the process of moving from a free forum host to our own site. I mention this not to toot my own horn, but because I have a point. I became involved in that site because I believe in the community we had built up over the years on that board and predecessor boards and I wanted to do whatever I could to help it succeed. I feel the same about this site. I believe in the community we have here. I believe that it can still succeed, and I believe that it will succeed. I believe that there are many good people here and that we can continue to build around them. I believe that we can and will get through this. I believe in NJDevs.

Don, you aren't the only one that has an understanding of what happened. But I have to wonder how good your understanding is? It sounds more like a very strong opinion, and the type of ranting that only hurts those involved. Do you honestly think your rage and indignation is really going to make the admins involved feel all warm and fuzzy and want to come back? Or did you even consider that what you were told in confidence wasn't meant for this purpose especially when the majority of posters don't know what happened so your irate posts only confuse things and make an uncomfortable situation more uncomfortable?

Liz:
If I hadn't asked *ANYONE* I would be of the same opinion. Just on the face of this, DM is dismissing the very people that did most of the work here, whether it be the deadline day stuff, or the front page articles, or helping me organize the trivia contest, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.. If I knew *NOTHING* of the circumstances, I would be of the opinion that they were done wrong.

As DM said in his post, it was just a difference of opinion and he wanted to take the board in another direction. And what I heard confirmed that. I personally don't think that is a good enough reason to remove these people from the "staff" here. I seem to be the only one and for that reason, I've said my piece and I'll leave this discussion as it is.

As for whether my frustrated posts were meant to make others feel "warm and fuzzy", I think everyone has settled into where they were comfortable before I wrote anything in this thread.

I think they were done wrong. It's my opinion. I'm sticking to it. But that is the last you will hear of it.

That was me, but im not watching any porn, I don't need a tv or computer for that..

On topic-

At 13 in todays world, you have basically learned everything, seen most things and heard or read most stuff. And im not the one posibly haveing sex, not close to it.Don't need to say to everyone that's it's inaproppriate that someone says boobs or anything on here. since there is a kid at 13 or 14 years of age. That's my opinion, take it as you want.

Cheers.

Well then you know what Don, go play the lottery, because you are clairvoyant. When I read DM's post, I didn't even know where to begin in understanding what went on between the admins. I don't think anyone is comfortable right now, but from what I've read they are certainly not forming opinions about something they know nothing about.

What I gather from most posters here, is deep saddness and regret that this happened and a genuine hope that the admins involved will have a change of heart and stay with the board. I also am not sure how I'll feel if they leave, Has and RD are posters I consider board pals. I will miss what they bring to the board. Red has made peace with what took place and I'm glad for him. I just don't think your posts help the situation but only add to whatever hard feelings that might exist between the parties.
