Patrik, I love ya but can you stop rolling your eyes to the heavens and letting it get to you every frigging time the goalie stops you? That wasn't nearly as much of a save by Ward as Chico made it out to be - Elias just hit the glove perfectly; if he'd shot it low he'd have beaten him.
Carolina's really outplayed the Devils so far, don't get fooled by the shot totals. It seems as if their whining instead of distracting them has united them in an us against the world mentality. Fvck them.
EDIT: Oh and about the power play Lou, maybe it would have been a good idea to practice it a little more in Game 4 instead of throwing away like the last six power plays. I understand not wanting to play the big scorers as much but rest them at even-strength. What's going to come of putting stiffs on the power play?

devils are definitely gripping their sticks. I think they read the press clippings.
Lou should have put them in a box, and shipped them to NC as soon as the horn blew last game...

The intensity it there but I think it will come down to in the end who wants it more, and at the moment I hate to say this but I think Carolina have the edge

GO.
DEVILS.
ONE PERIOD LEFT, or it's all over. Time to determine whether this team wants it or not.

"Right, lads. Now I know there's not a faint heart among you. I know you're as anxious as I am to get into close action. But we must bring 'em right up beside us before we spring this trap. That will test our nerve. And discipline will count just as much as courage. The Acheron is a tough nut to crack. More then twice our guns. More then twice our numbers. And they will sell their lives dearly." -Capt. Jack Aubrey

But it's because of their cheap crap and whining that I've gone from sort of liking them (mainly cause of having a good friend that's a part-Canes fan) to outright detesting them and wanting to rub their faces in the ice every time we play them next year and also wanting Buffalo and/or any other team they play to kick the sh!t out of them this year.

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

the better team won, I don't think they're 4-1 series win better, but they're faster and have more heart.
0-5 on the PP sealed our fate. Canes have gas left in the tank. Devils have like 5 shots in the past 30 minutes. You can't win like that.
I'm just glad they lost in this fashion rather than OT.

not that it would've mattered anyway, but where was Madden to cover Whitney in front...oh well.
Where was Madden to win the draw? A draw? Any draw?

meh, he's run too hot and cold in the playoffs. And he never plays well in Carolina for some reason...check that he's downright terrible in Carolina.
