Lou should sign Elias but I have a feeling Elias is moving on.

You have a feeling that everything bad is going to happen, LD. You thought Scott Stevens was moving on every time too.

Anyway, tomorrow I'm going to be writing my long-winded version of the off-season.

Koz and Rass are the remaining unrestricteds.

Gio, Gomer, Hale, Martin and Whitey are RFA.

Part of me hopes someone swoops in and takes White off of our hands.

Abby, Patty, Klee, Koz, Langs and Rass are UFA.

Play a little sign/dont sign/wont sign?

Sign Elias. So-long to the rest. I like Langs, but this team needs a guy who'll put the puck in the net more often than every odd month.

I think the coach matters here. That's why I say bringing in a good coach would help in whether or not Elias and Langenbrunner return.

There is no way Arnott & his salary comes here - certainly not without big trade.

I think Langs stays. Lou loves those Team USA guys.
And Rass stays too.

Going: Klee, Abby, Sarge (sad but true), Koz.

Sheesh, after 4 total goals in the 4 playoff games we lost -- we need to further adjust to the new NHL and get some more scoring.

Elias. Unless Patrick makes it obvious that it really matter who the coach is.

Before we wave goodbye to #15, keep in mind that Guerin, Modano, Zubov and Turco take up alot of salary, can Dallas afford him? and quite frankly $1.7 is probably the going rate for a player like Langs. Players are NOT going to get huge increases from anyone with the salary cap.

Get the monkey, aka Malakhov & Mogilny, off their cap so he knows how much $ he has to spend. Anyone think McGillis is tradeable?

Patty, Gomer, and Gio have to be signed.

Burnsy still has some time to recover before making a decision if he can go it or not.

Would Burns be available?

I hate to say this, but if you're familiar with cancer, recurrences usually do you in. It's metastatic cancer to the liver. Usually incurable. The media has been pretty mum -- and rightfully so -- on Burns' condition, but he may not be with us in a few years, let alone coaching.

You're right about Langs. I hope not though, he came through big time in these playoffs.

He is a guy you keep around. 2 Stanley Cups, double digits in points in the playoffs in only 9 games. Great defensively. Good point shot.

I hope we don't let him get away. But where is the money?

Came through big-time? He piled up his goals against the Rangers Swiss Cheese defense. He disappeared against Carolina and forgot how to shoot. And he definitely pissed Lou off with his stupid penalties.

All it takes is one team to see a certain fit, and theyll overpay.

Lou showed that with Malakhov and Mogilny.
