Probably not, given their group with Italy and the Czechs. Even the African team (Ghana?) is supposed to be pretty good. Then again the '02 group was supposed to be too tough for the USA as well.
Still I don't think they're ready to win the whole thing. Hopefully they find their way into the second round this year and make their big move in 2010 with Arena still slated to be around and the young players having more international experience by then.

I'm pretty sure USA can go far this year...
They are quick, they have a good goalie and they learn very very very quick !
Ok... they can't (in my opinion) win the Cup THIS YEAR... but can't be disturbing for a lot of team !
Italy & USA go to the next step in this group !

i think the USA will find a way to get out of their group.
First off, who can predict Italy anymore these days, they really are a hit or miss team.
I think the USA can make a deep run this year, Ill predict Final 4.
