What the hell is going on???

Are the Isles purposely dismantling their team for fear of the playoffs?

York is a good player, Robitallie? A PP specialist at best.

Cap room for a big trade?

"Quite frankly, all the players are getting paid too much and all the contracts are too long," general manager Lou Lamoriello said. "But if you want to compete in this market and you want to win, there are some things you have to do."

York was a good player, but he's been invisible offensively for a long time. His career hasn't progressed as it should.

Robitaille is probably the better all around player at this point in his career.

Garth Snow was a Flyer for how long?

The Islanders are cutting salary once again.

Hey 7 - you going to sell this one on Randy Robitaille's potential? LOL - okay you already did. Randy Robitaille is a power play specialist who is lucky to get work in the NHL.

You're crazy, the Isles are in first place and cutting salary like it's 1998? More evidence of the new NHL I guess. Where this stuff isn't supposed to happen...but still does!

York hasn't done anything this year though. He has been completely invisible all season.

It's the Islanders own fault they have to cut salary - they signed their goaltender to a 15 year deal, hired his backup as the GM, and have generally been run horribly. They also signed a boatload of overpriced free agents in the off-season. I'm sure they are falling short of their attendance projections.

York should be traded, and maybe Robitaille is the best they can get for him. Since York will be UFA at the end of the year, it doesn't seem to make sense for the Flyers, who are well out of it - unless they intend to flip him to a good team at the end of the year, which seems more likely.

Maybe the Isles and Flyers are "behind the scenes" trying to find ways to beat us, work together to get rid of those pesky Devils!..... LOL..........I know that barely makes sense.

We do not have to worry about this. Lately the Devils have found ways to beat themselves. :evilcry:

Didn't the Isles try to get York's salary reduced during arbitration...and didn't they lose? I'm surprised he wasn't traded before this.

"It is always a little bit of a shock when you first get traded," said York. "I'm going to a new team and getting a new start, so I am excited about that. Hopefully, I can help turn the Flyers around in a positive way.

I wonder if Philly and the isles traded all of their players from one team to another, would that change their teams performances this year?
