Rasmussen actually played well tonight and on the first line as well. His size was a nice prescence on the top line when he played on that line tonight. His passing skills were pretty good tonight. Elias and Gomez was flying around with Rasmussen. Good job.

So the guy has been playing everygame in the last month....on the first or third lines and it takes him this long to get a goal ...he stinks....put Rupp up on the first line!!! or

Wow you really have a personal dislike for the guy 
He's been playing on the third line mostly and they don't usually score goals in case you hadn't noticed. He's not good offensively but how many options do the Devils have, especially now? Rupp hasn't exactly done a ton offensively either and he has been on the second line, though he's had a couple of goals.
Ras is a versatile player that is a good fourth-liner and an okay third-line fill in. Anything higher and he's a fish out of water.

I *love* the name AssMuffin. 
But i like the player, Rassmussen. I know, i know, he's not Gionta or Elias but come on, MOST players aren't Gio or Elias.
He's a guy with a lot of heart and he's been put in a role that's a far cry than the one he normally plays. At the end of the season. In a playoff race. No pressure dude. Really.
I was kinda miffed at first when he stayed and stevenson went, but now i'm glad we didn't keep the Turncoat/

I do not expect him to be an Elias or Gio but for crying out loud...the guy does not show heart. I keep hearing about the skills this guy has and I haven't seen it. I do not mean the Gio or Elias type skills...but show me something!!
I agree about Stevensen BTW.
Personally I preferred Grant Marshall...money became an issue though. I would be pleased if Assmuffin would play at least on the level of a Grant Marshall or even Rupp.

The difference between Rasmussen and Marshall is that Marshall had the ability to score a major game-changing or series-changing goal. I have yet to see any inkling of that magic in Rasmussen. Although I like the guy. It's just so difficult when three of the best players on the team are out for an extended period. I agree, though, that he should be on the 4th line and Rupp or a newb should be on the 1st.
I guess all this is a moot point if he's out for an extended period after tonight's injury. Think of all the gems we could have posted on other threads instead....

Too bad Lou cannot bring up Marshall. He would be better right now than Rasmissen. Yes Marshall can score goals and have scored some key goals in the Stanley Cup run of 2003. It would be nice to see him up with the Devils come playoff time.
Does anyone know Marshall's salary? Can the Devils bring him up now with all the injuries?
Marshall or Bergfors would be a good fill in for Rasmussen right now if he is out with the upper body injury.

How many goals has Marshall scored in the AHL? I think it's around 6. For a NHL veteran to only score 6 goals in the AHL tells me he is pretty much shot.

I think they're just not in shape. You don't get these kinds of injuries this time of year if you are in good condition. Doesn't help matters much that they've been playing a lot of games lately with a short bench and a lot of guys are stepping up into roles they're not accustomed to and possibly aren't in the shape to play.
I really hope they can shake this before the playoffs or it will be a very short run for us this year.

What does a retired Doctor from the Devils have to do with the injuries? The Devils have a new Doctor and sure he is just as good as Murray was.

Burray was a trainer, not a doctor. Also, it could have somehting to do with it, but I think likely not with this team. These guys are conditioned well with teh entire roster of Devils personell, and they know from previous trainers how to take care of themselves.
