These sites are official sites that are accepted sources, this may include sites who are aggregates of the official league sites.

TSN ESPN Canada, one of the quicker official sites. They also have a trade center.

Sportsnet.ca Usually the other site that is quickly updated on tradeday. I linked to the transaction page, which displays transactions almost instantly.

2man advantage RD's site, from her work here in previous years this will be a quality place to check.

Spectors The king of trade rumors. None come close, and usually does a great job if cutting through the clutter.

The fourth period A fan run site, has several posters from here involved. Including NJD Jester (Greg)

This isn't an all comprehensive list. I did leave off other fan sites (like HF Boards) as they are notorious for posting unverified trades.

Trade deadline day in the NHL is always a nerve racking day. It is so nuts that we hope for the best for our Devils barring a trade or not. Lou knows best for the Devils and it will not suprise me if the Devils do not make any moves by Tuesday night. This day will be a nutty day for everyone who pays attention.

The Devils don't need a trade... I'm hoping for a quiet day from Lou.... sites like Yahoo, RDS, are good as well? In the unlikelyhood they post first?

Official (company) sites are ok. I just want to avoid having people quote random user on random site said Crosby is a devil.

I take it back, maybe the Devils could benefit from a trade...

Thanks for clarification.

Can't forget NHL.com too for the latest trade deadline news even though they tend to be slow with the new news.

It would also be a great day to listen to SPorts Radio Toronto online:

http://www.fan590.com/

I used to take the day off and work around my apartment listening to this. It used to be awesome in the none salary cap days. I just don't think there are going to be any major dealings.

RDS is actually part of TSN, as far as I know (?). Anyways, RDS is reliable, and in many cases, actually has trades before TSN does.

I'd have to vote that they'd be an acceptable source for official trades.

"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness."

TSN and Sportsnet should have the quickest updates since their NHL Insiders get the scoop usually before anyone else.

Manta, that's because they already happened. Tkachuk and Forsberg were already dealt. The trade deadline last year had more deals than any in NHL history - while I think this one will be a bit quieter, there still should be a flood of minor and major moves coming in the next 27 hours.

For example, the Devils made 4 moves last year, I expect them to make 1 or 0 this year.

Great list. I'll be using these sites instead of HF. Which is already in heavy traffic mode given that Gary Roberts is going to be dealt somewhere if Roberts says yes (TSN had it on their front page). So better them than HF.

Your unconditional rejection of violence makes you smugly think of yourselves as noble, as enlightened, but in reality it is nothing less than abject moral capitulation to evil. Unconditional rejection of self-defense, because you think its a supposed surrender to violence, leaves you no resort but begging for mercy or offering appeasement.

THANK YOU, DevilMinder for listing some trade rumor sites. Most of the time I have trouble finding some, (except the obvious like Spectorshockey.net, or The4thperiod.com.) But this list is really appreciated!!!

Just one quick question, out of those sites listed, besides Spectorshockey.net, and The4thperiod.com, which one is the best? I'm thinking about giving RD's site a try. But I just figured i'd ask first. :)

Thank you!!!

RD's site will probably end up being the best, if her work as the anchor of NJDevs' trade deadline coverage in past years is any indication. She keeps her eye on all of the big sites and probably a whole lot of others as well. Sometimes she's even scooped the big boys!

IT IS VERY HARD TO WIN ONE STANLEY CUP, FORGET ABOUT THREE... and maybe it's high time some of you actually APPRECIATED THAT instead of treating it like it's some flipping birthright because for some random reason you rooted for the damn Devils!!!!! Posted Image

RD is very fast at getting the info from the major sites like TSN and Sportsnet and organizing it. You'll prob avoid the traffic too of the other sites.

Since you don't live in Canada, listening to any of the major Canadian radio stations is key. They usually get reports right away as well and have ton of analysts talking hockey.

Sorry about the lack of updates guys, I had a prior obligation and had to be away from the computer. I'll be around for the rest of the night and puckrock and I will begin our Deadline coverage starting at 8am tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the support!
