Jets vs. Cowboys will be a pretty good matchup on Turkey day.

TRADE ALERT:

A trade that I am sure ESPN will destroy because they truly are clueless and hate the Bills, the Bills trade "the lost step" LB Takeo Spikes and 'dink and dunk' QB Kelly Holcumb to the Philadelphia Eagles for DT Darwin Walker and a conditional 2008 draft pick.

EAGLE$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Bills Trade Spikes, Holcomb
by R News staff
Published Mar 26, 2007

The Buffalo Bills announced they traded linebacker Takeo Spikes and quarterback Kelly Holcomb to the Philadelphia Eagles Monday for defensive tackle Darwin Walker and a conditional draft choice.

Walker has been one of the most effective pass rushing defensive tackles in the NFL in recent years. Since 2002, he ranks fifth among NFL defensive tackles with 26.5 sacks.

6-4, 294 pounds, Walker will enter his eighth NFL season in 2007. In 2006, Walkers 6.0 sacks tied for second on the Eagles. He added 56 tackles, an interception and a forced fumble.

Walker set an Eagles 2006 season-high with 3.0 sacks against the Dallas Cowboys on October 8, 2006. He also tied a Philadelphia postseason record with 2.0 sacks against Drew Brees in a playoff loss to the New Orleans Saints on January 13, 2007.

Walker saw action in all 16 regular season games and made 15 starts. He also started both of Philadelphias postseason contests. Hes started 75 of 88 career games and has 27.5 career sacks.

Spikes leaves the Bills after four seasons in Western New York. A standout linebacker, Spikes earned his first two Pro Bowl invitations in his first two seasons with the team in 2003 and 2004.

But Spikes suffered an Achilles tendon injury in the third game of the 2005 season. It cost him the rest of that season. He returned in 2006, but was not the same, play making force in the Bills defense. He started 11 of 12 games finishing with 76 tackles, 1.0 sacks and a forced fumble.

He helped lead to the Bills defense to the No. 2 ranking in the NFL in 2003 and 2004 and posted 100-tackle seasons in both seasons.

Holcomb spent two seasons in Buffalo. He made eight starts in 2005. Holcomb completed 155 of 230 passes for 1,509 yards with 10 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Holcomb set the team single-season completion percentage record at 67.39 percent passing Jim Kellys 64.14 percentage set in 1991. An 11-year NFL veteran, Holcomb did not see action in the 2006 season.

What the hell are the Eagles doing?? WHEN McNabb goes down again, instead of Garcia they now have Holcomb and what's his face. This organization is just destroying itself.

Yeah, 'cause Garcia was so great last year.

Garcia was an average QB - he wasn't going to sign in Philadelphia anyway. The reason why Philadelphia did so well was they abandoned their 60 pass a game strategy and let Westbrook run - and he won games for them.

Clown, Darwin Walker wasn't exactly the best run stopper last year. Frankly both teams are giving each other damaged goods.

I still like the deal for both teams.

Spikes is a heck of a LB...but he does not fit that well into the Tampa 2 defense the Bills are running..plus Spikes is not the kind of LB you build your team around...IMO he is better suited to go to a defense that has some parts in tact already. Buffalo is clearly looking towards 2008 and 2009 to be big years. To keep a LB coming off an achillies injury just does not make any sense for Buffalo.

Darwin Walker, not a good run stopper I agree, but he definately upgrades the DT position for Buffalo. The one thing I like about what Marv Levy is doing is: the Bills clearly have guys in mind to fit their system the best, and even if it means moving popular players, they will do it. And the Bills are upgrading the OL and DL, and THAT IMO is the best way to build a team, from the inside out.

Believe me, I hope Spikes DOMINATES...that means the Bills get a better pick in 2008

Garcia was average, but he knew how to win games. McNabb's current understudy's are far less than average, so when McNabb gets his annual injury they have no one. Garcia wanted to re-sgin with them

Dolphins trade Mare to New Orleans for a 6th. GREAT move, seeing as he was going to be released anyway.

Pay homage to the INCREDIBLE scoring goalie!!!! :-)

I saw CRASHER trip a kid on skates and then he stole the kids lunch money and slapped his mom when she came to pick him up.. All because the kid looked at his crease

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I guess I wouldn't mind that, provided we draft Quinn or Stanton.

I think the Dolphins would be wise to grab Stanton in the 2nd round (if they can)...or use their 1st round pick for a DT like Okoye from Louisville who I believe will be a beast, and trade up in the 1st to get Stanton.

For the first time in YEARS, we are actually discussing draft possibilities for the Dolphins...very strange feeling :P

Damn...never realized there was a fellow Dolfan here. At any rate, I'd love the C-Pep for Green trade. Don't think it'll happen as KC seems to think he's worth a king's ransom...but I'd do it in a heart beat. Then trade both our seconds and our first and whatever else is takes to get Quinn. With Green's mentoring Quinn could actually be a great QB...just don't expect miracles on day 1.

If the Phins do get Carr...which is a strong possibility...I just don't see them going for Quinn.

David Carr to the Panthers.... considering the level of backup QB they usually put out there this is like them signing Joe Montana
