I fvcking hate FSN2 this game looks like sh!t. It looks like someone needs to turn a light on.

No, that's how Tampa's arena always looks.

As for the game itself... this team has no one who can -- or, more to the point, will -- strike fear in the hearts of the opposition. Granted, guys like Scott Stevens don't come around very often, but that's who the Devils need. They need someone who is not afraid to put the team on his shoulders (like Brodeur claimed he was doing) AND turn the other guys into pt. There's a lot of guys on this roster with heart but too few with fire.

IT IS VERY HARD TO WIN ONE STANLEY CUP, FORGET ABOUT THREE... and maybe it's high time some of you actually APPRECIATED THAT instead of treating it like it's some flipping birthright because for some random reason you rooted for the damn Devils!!!!! Posted Image

no rowdy it is fsny2 - every game on that channel looks like it's being broadcast from 1986, i expect to see aaron broten and pat verbeek out there. half the time i turned the channel on i thought i'd be hearing brass bonanza played at stoppages. i don't udnerstand why that is, but it's true - also the audio is routinely bad on fsny2

good thing you have no windows.

It was meant to be facetious. I would have run out of TVS even if I was in a TV store.

I mean I saw Patrik in the 2nd period alone, shoot four times from the circle at a bad angle in a 3 minute period. You have to be kidding.

That is something because I just mentioned how I miss Stevens, Daneyko and Niedermayer infront of Brodeur and how this bad play would not happen if those three where still here in another thread/post. B )

When Marty said he had to take the team on his shoulders I was glad he said it. Now his being able to do it is quite another story. I think he really wants to, believe he can, but it is yet to be seen.

I was told by Tampa Bay fans that it's the broadcast all around from the arena...and from what I've noticed, the big problem with FSN2 is the audio, lots of feedback and static.

Brodeur will bounce back. No way he turns in three in a row letting in garbage goals. I expect a really tight game up next.

brodeur didn't blame himself for game 2 either - he's an egotist, plain and simple. and i don't think he wants the opposition to know they're in his head even when they are. it's great when you're winning and looks like outright delusion when you're losing, but the great players all have it imo

this is so 100% accurate i can only say i'm glad someone summed up marty so well. the happy go lucky attitude of brodeur is always his strength and weakness. i'm never concerned about what he says or how he comes off. with marty, it doesn't matter at all. he just has to stop the puck.

a bad angle? hey if it works for tampa why not try it

seriously though they are shooting a bit too much on low-percentage opportunities.

in the playoffs? that's asking way too much of brodeur and the devils

Just a question I pondered right after the game ended: If we were to somehow tie this game late and send it to OT tonight- the way things seemed to be going against us all night (with the exception of the fluky Parise goal)- who thinks we would've won? Because I gotta be honest- I don't think there was any way we were winning this game in OT. It just seemed to be one of those nights. You KNOW Tampa would've gotten some crazy bounce or some fluky goal in OT, which would've been even more heart-breaking.

DEVILS MUST WIN GAME 4! PERIOD!

Then they come home and could take the lead in the series with two games to go and one more @ home. Devils can win this series as it is not over, but brodeur needs to play this one with no garbage goals and Brodeur type game with the win.

We had the advantage on several shifts after that Parise goal - we were taking the play to them. Had that continued, we definitely would've had the advantage in OT. Of course as a Devils fan, I never feel confident in OT, but there it is.

How many games are the Devils going to win when:

--their top line of Elias, Gomez, and Gionta is nowhere to be found
--Brodeur lets in a few shaky goals
--their second line center (Zajac) isn't producing much
--their top checking line can't match the other team's top scoring line (or, vs. Tampa, not even come close!)
--their power play cannot move the puck or establish itself in the offensive zone
--they let up goals early on in the game
--they have many, many careless turnovers
--they can't even break out of their own zone
--the calls against them are questionable at best
--they don't establish a physical presence

...I could go on, but you get the point. Many of the points on this list are not only a problem in this series and in the latter half of the season, but date back to last season's playoff loss. Their offense is not very good - even vs. the Rangers last year, when they scored 17 goals in 4 games, they didn't have much offensive pressure, and that showed the next series against Carolina.

They could go on to win this series, but as the last month+ and this series have shown, this team is not a legitimate Stanley Cup contender.

Hats off to Parise - what a player.

Yes, we did. And things were starting to look up. And then- no sooner did Doc utter the words "it sure has changed, hasn't it"?- there was Tampa, attacking our net yet again, picking up yet another piece of sh!t garbage goal. And that was all she wrote.

Sadly, I never feel like we will win a OT game in the playoffs. As the period winded down I said to myself even if they tie it up they are going to break my heart with another OT loss. I'd rather they lose in regulation they have to sit through the agony of another OT loss.

At this rate, Paul Broten and Sylvain Turgeon would be an improvement...
