The best fans go to every game and stay until the end...that's me. The rest are bandwagoners who proclaim the series over after a 5-4 loss in game 1 without Elias.

I can't stand the people here too who call for DOOOOOM after a loss, or blame Marty for every puck that goes by him regardless of deflection, nice shot, etc.

But don't call me a "bandwagon" or a "bad" fan because I couldn't make it to the game last night. It's just plain inaccurate and wrong.

If you can't make it to the game for personal reasons or something like that then it's not a huge deal. But fans that don't go to a game all year then show up in the ECF and boo Brodeur if he let's in a soft goal are the people I hate.

Also, if you're not attending games then you can't complain about a woman who writes about the pathetic attendance. And to those same people stop making excuses about the prices or the parking or the weather just admit that the reason you don't support the team is because you're lazy fair weather fans.

I want to see what the Nets attendance is tonight. They have to deal with the same crap at the Meadowlands and they're aren't exactly a championship caliber team like the Devils are and have been.

No, I agree with you about the ECF comment. However, I don't think theres too much of those fans. I think some fans go to one or two games in the opening round, but then will buy more than one game in the 3rd or 4th rounds. I just don't think we have that many casual fans, as we do fans that are budgeting family money and saying "well maybe we can do one or two games in the opening rounds, but then as we get to the finals rounds, i can buy all the games."

I am in college in Syracuse, I cannot make the games right now because of finals, graduation, and I just don't have the time to make itetc, etc. But I'll be at game four in Ottawa because I'll have the time.

Just because the Nets do better doesn't mean they have more fans. THis is basketball, the Nets market just so much better than anything the Devils do (i.e. buy one season ticket, get one free. or giving away autograph jerseys for season ticket holders, have that NETS VIP ACCESS CLUB, and a million other things. I mean they market the team until you cannot kknow the product and the players. The Devils don't do any of that, at all.

But go to an NBA game. People don't go to watch the game. They go to bullsh!t with friends and hang out and pay attention to the last five minutes of the game. It's all casual fans, because basketball is "hip". Let's also not forget the Nets are on YES, a free channel for all of NJ, casual fans can watch their games. If you were a casual hockey fan wanting to watch the game last night, you needed to pay the addition fee for FSNY on Comcast. if you were a casual sports fan, you wouldn't pay that much money for it if you didn't have it. The arena, the start time, and about a million other reasons are to blame for the attendance. I disagree about our fans. I think are fans are fantastic, but there isn't that many of them.

Hopefully things that could change will change. And that starts next year (god willingly).

THe Nets also have $10, 16, 21, 36, and 46 dollar price ranges. If the Devils had prices liek that, there would have been a lot more people at the game last night.

Tonights Nets playoff game drew a announced crowd of 17,147.

For comparision the Devils played a round 1 playoff game last week same day, same time slot (7pm start) and got a crowd of 18,096.

I never leave until the game is over. AND I think Marty is hotter than hell and I am a die hard Devils and hockey fan. Appreciating hottness doesn't make one less of fan, it just enhances the experience. I mean what are the purpose of ice girls?

I don't get to nearly every game, but I don't consider myself a bad fan. That being said, I still see nothing wrong with her article.

If you read my earlier post, I said that I don't leave early. It's none of my business that other people leave early. There are plenty of reasons why some people walk out before the three stars.

See, I think a better comparison is our opener against Ottawa -- first home game against a Canadian team nobody cares about.

The Nets have always been a bit like the Devils when it comes to gate, in the sense that the opponent matters big time in determining the crowd. I think it's a byproduct of those days when the Nets would market "Come See Jordan and the Bulls!" instead of their own losing product.

But likewise how much is Tampa draw? The reason why I used that game because it was a Friday night game at 7 same as the Nets game. Game 1 against Ottawa isn't a fair comparison because it was a Thursday night game and if you don't think the day of the week matters at that arena you are kidding yourself. If it wasn't a major factor there would not have been such a large increase between game 1 and game 2 of the Tampa series. So the only fair comparison is to use the two Friday games.

My original basic point was to show that the big problem is the arena and not how the Devils play like a lot of people say by showing that the arena other tenant has similar problems drawing.

Average attendance of 14,176? That's only about 1,000 seats shy of a sellout in Nassau Coliseum. I really wish these articles would go to article-hell.

Please post a scan or picture of your ticket stubs from games 1 and 2 of this series. Also post your stub for game 5 as well (because "real" fans -- like you -- obviously have playoff strips)

Feel free to blur out the account number and barcode, but I'd like to see them because I think you're a lying piece of $hit.

You have some set of stones asking me to scan my tix and blur stuff.

But you're the same guy that comes here and asks the Devil fans to write your book for him. If you had any talent as a writer you would write your own book instead of asking Devil fans to do it for you. It doesn't matter because nobody is going to read it anyway.
