I've been hearing people saying that as of now the devils biggest weakness is that they don't have any solid centers. They say that Zubrus is better on the wings, well if I recall Elias is pretty capable of playing center but if that doesn't do anything for you, why don't we sign this guy Jason Allison. Thoughts/input on the topic?

I thought Allison retired. :noclue: I remember him holding out waiting for the "right offer" a couple of years ago. And then he kinda disappeared. Maybe Souray should take a page out of his book.

Sportsnet reported he retired, he now is saying he didn't. I just think no team will take a shot on him given his concussion history, or he's asking for too much.

Scott Stevens was wondering if Lindros is still eating out of a straw. :evilcry:

Allison has publicly stated he will play for very little money and has averaged almost a pt per game over his career.

I'm sure some team will sign him. You can get him for 2 million, I'd say, and some team will benefit from his services.

The knock is that he is slow and might just be a PP specialist. Still, the points are there. If we didn't have Zubrus/Zajac, I'd say yes, however, we don't have room for another center, unless he's a 4th line center, which Allison is not.

Additionally, we'll probably try to develop Pelley at center on the 4th line to replace Madden in a few season (2 more yrs left on Madden's deal - he will be 37 when it expires).

He wasn't in the 06-07 season because of personal issues, but I don't think this guy would be a bad pick up even if it was to throw him in the minors and use him as a backup.
