It was nice of the Cub fans (and the Brewer fans earlier this week) to salute him when he left and cheer for history in the ninth, and they even gave him a congratulatory message on the scoreboard at Wrigley.
This game was a nice capsule of what's made Glavine successful. 6.1 innings and 2 runs given up against a good lineup, but even more than that he did good things at the plate, an RBI single for the first run of the game and a groundout and sacrifice bunt that led to a run.
