Kuklas Korner reporting: http://www.kuklaskor...salavat_yulaev/

Oleg was still under contract with the Kings for another year -- I guess he should theoretically be suspended by the Kings then?

I can't imagine any way his salary would remain with the Kings, it should be deducted from the cap, correct? If that's the case, the Kings now have a good extra couple million to work with, which is nice.

Given LA's signing habits, I'd say their top priorities will now be signing one of the following:

David Tanabe
Ric Jackman
Bryan Berard
Danny Markov (I hope not, for his sake)

And for those keeping score, LA's d-corps (minus T-Vo):

Rob Blake
Brad Stuart
Tom Preissing
Lubomir Visnovsky
Jaroslav Modry
Jack Johnson*
Kevin Dallman
Joe Piskula*
Peter Harrold*

* = rookie last season

Honestly, I doubt LA will sign anyone to take up his roster spot... he wasn't going to see much time with them this year. Still, if LA does sign someone, I really doubt it'd be anyone of serious caliber.

I don't see them going out and signing someone, but it is nice to have a few extra million lying around, you know?

Eh, I remembered...but nothing seals his legacy more for me than "TverDORsky." Best name ever.

Wow thats actually quite an impressive D-corps

That could be a marginally beter defensive lineup than we have.

yeah except that blake visnovsky and modry can't play defense - blake could once upon a time, and i suppose modry was good once, but not anymore.

a bunch of nice names, but they are going to stink - plus they've got cloutier behind them.

If you factor in goal tenders we a miles ahead.

But that really isnt that bad a defense.

no, it's pretty bad. just because you've heard of everyone who plays there doesn't make it not bad. visnovsky is at best average defensively, blake and modry are probably below average at this point, preissing's defensive ability is overrated.

tverdovsky was drafted in 1994 iirc, that would make him 31.
