Just enjoy the damn games!
Sunday October 14:
St. Louis at Baltimore
What to look for:
Umm… yech? The bathroom… order lunch? This will NOT be pretty either, the Ravens got nothing on offense (I feel like I say the same stuff about them each week but it’s so true, damn true)… the Rams are a mess and I’d say this is a winnable game for them… but it’s not happening here….Ravens defense owners should be happy about this one at least!
Minnesota at Chicago:
What to look for:
Defense… lots of it? Ugly QB play all around… Tavares Jackson or not neither one of the teams will remind you of the 1980’s 49ers… but both have decent if not good defenses… just seems that Minnesota is better at every position, and should be able to put another past the Bears who may exhale a bit too much after beating the Packers in miracle fashion…..
Miami at Cleveland:
What to look for:
Cleo Lemon and Derek Anderson?? Holy hell… this might as ugly as entertainingly possible! If this was a week one game I’d have said Miami would win this one…but when you are kicked down and as beaten at the 0-5 quasi-fish are… I can see it being very very hard to get up to play a good game at this point… you’d think Miami’s gonna win a game somewhere (though it would be funny to see “team perfect” 35 years later become team 0-fer)… it’s not gonna be this week… dammit… the browns gotta be feeling too good about themselves and too good on offense to let it happen.
Washington at Green Bay:
What to look for:
The Redskins seem to get better each and every week, but the Packers are gonna be a bit annoyed after handing that game to the Bears on a silver plate… momentum is on the Skins’ side… and to an extent so is the talent pool, awfully hard to see a decent Packer team lose two in a row at home though….if you have to pick a 1pm game to watch this might be the one!
Houston at Jacksonville:
What to look for:
Any time AFC South teams lock up it’s a good game, this one should be no exception! Both teams do well what the other one doesn’t… and this could be one of those key tiebreaker games to see which of these two end up with a wild card spot this year, also will be key to see how Matt Schaub handles the Jag defense as well… this may be the #2 game to watch at 1 Sunday.. no wonder I get there so damn early!!!
Cincinnati at Kansas City:
What to look for:
The immovable offense against the untackling defense…. Fascinating!! Gotta think the Bengals are DESPERATE to win a game somewhere and the Chiefs home-field mystique is GONE now… another thing shattered by THE HERM! No clue if Huard is healthy enough to start, but I don’t think it matters.. can’t see the anemic Chiefs (hey Ranger fans.. look at it this way… Larry Johnson has been less productive then Scott Gomez!) doing enough to hang with the Bengals who need this bad
Philadelphia at NY Jets:
What to look for:
Well the Jets have never beaten the Eagles…normally I would say this is reason to pick them… but unless Chad is taken out by the half I can’t see it with their offense in shambles now.. can’t run… can’t pass over 15 yards… the coach has already flushed the luster right back down the toilet and if the Eagles don’t win this week they are finished in the NFC… the Jets might already be finished anyway
Tennessee at Tampa Bay:
What to look for:
Vince Young played as bad as you can possibly play, and yet they still won… Tampa Bay… well they’re playing ok, but they are losing players left right and sideways here and I don’t think they have the depth to hold off these kind of injuries, while you’d have to think the Titans will be less sloppy here, and I do feel for the Bucs, they looked like they had it going right this year…
4pm:
Carolina at Arizona:
What to look for:
A THOUSAND YEARS OF QUARTERBACKING HERE… between Vinny the Balls of Green (amazing how you can still be color blind and still get QB jobs like Vinny… but hey that’s the NFL right)… and Captain Jesus Lover himself in Kurt Warner! Telling game for which of these two teams will put a chokehold on their own divisions here… Carolina has just been such a disappointment this year and I’m really high on the Cardinals… look for the home team to pull this one out!
New England at Dallas:
What to look for:
The CLASH OF THE TITANS, the match of the season… America’s Team defending against the pretenders!!! People have accused me of over-hyping Tony Romo and calling him the second coming… untrue.. he’s the THIRD coming in Dallas
Oakland at San Diego:
What to look for:
The Battle for first place in the AFC West.. REALLY!! The Raiders are playing good steady football this year so far… but this is the big test for both teams… can the Chargers use their talent and just pound the snot out of the upstart Raiders? Bold prediction here… if the Raiders win this game they WILL win the AFC West… I’d say it’s a shame that no one gets to see this game… but the reason they won’t far makes up for it!!
830pm:
New Orleans at Seattle:
What to look for:
Can Drew Brees pretend to be an NFL QB? Can the Saints EVER win… will Mike Vander-choke get another kicking job? Will this game be the worst Sunday Night game of the year? (probably)… I dunno… this is why there’s a TNA Bound For Glory party at my house Sunday Night… no need to see this one on the big screen!
Monday October 15:
NY Giants at Atlanta:
What to look for:
Umm.. Monday Night Raw maybe? This one’s not gonna be a pleasant watch… the Falcons play hard but they got NOTHING… and the Giants seem to have fixed the ship.. but it used to be anything can happen on Monday Night Raw… now it seems anything can happen on Monday Night FOOTBALL… we’ll see… I ain’t holding my breath though
