Satans Hockey
Mine was much easier than I thought it was going to be. I drive in from Staten Island so I took the Turnpike to exit 14 and than route 78 to route 21 and it took me 20 mins to get into my parking lot. I left about 15 mins after the game ended and got right back on 21 and headed to 78 than the Turnpike and that took about 25 mins but the traffic on 21 wasn't that bad. I was expecting much worse leaving the arena. How did everyone's trip to and leaving the arena go? DevilsRule2008
It wasn't bad, however I didnt even get a poster. I went out some back exit that wasn't being covered. I didn't even know they were giving posters out until i saw masses of people leaving the big cylinders carrying all the posters. LA03
There's no NJ Transit option that makes sense coming from where I live and leaving from the South Orange station would take really ridiculously long. It took 15 minutes to get there and about the same to get home. (we drove... we just get on 280... ) My dad works in Newark and he pays monthly for a parking spot in his building's garage, so we just parked there. It wasn't a long walk to the arena from there and I didn't feel unsafe at all. Edited October 28, 2007 by LA03
harpua19
easier on the way out...On the way in at around 6pm I thought I was at a phish show in nyc, it was a disaster
Triumph
getting in was easy, getting out was easy - but i took mccarter highway there, and left via raymond blvd to the turnpike.

DevilNurn
No problems either way, real easy getting in and out was okay besides a little wait on the platform. It's interesting to run into a bunch of Rangers fans from their game on the train.
JDF320
Getting to the arena was no problem, leaving was a different story altogether. I parked in the lot across from which was 25 dollars pre-paid, and than had to wait in a ridiculous line to get my car after the game. Then on my way back to the turnpike, there was a green trailblazer in front of me that literally hit a guy and ran. It was unbelievable. Im not sure the street name but we were making the right turn that takes us to the turn pike and there was a guy in the middle of the road(very hard to see him), we think he was trying to clean car windows and we see him do a complete 360 in the air after getting hit by the truck and the truck just hauled ass and got out of there. An authentic newark experience i guess??? Overall though not a bad drive in and out. Arena looks awesome and I'm sure everything will get more efficient as the season goes on. Anyone here drive a green trailblazer?

sammyk
Easy in, easy out via rail. Matawan stations entire platform was filled with Devils fans. Awesome site. And the critics said no one would take mass transit! There was standing room only on the train out of Newark. I didn't get to sit down until Linden I think. sammyk
Ditto here. The train was PACKED coming home. I think they need to switch the game times back to 7:30 when the Rags are playing a home game at 7. It wasn't so bad tonight because no one had any reason to feel good about their respective teams, but I could see the train becoming a madhouse some other nights. The train was nearly full before it even got to Newark Penn, I spent the entire ride in the vestibule between cars.
zachattack9
It was easier and better then i thought it would be. Taking the train even though i had to transfer in secaucus was great. Coming home we had rangers fans and devils fans coming back from the games getting on the trains in secaucus. Needless to say their was some yelling back and forth and a rangers suck chant on the train lol. Also getting onto a train platform and seeing tons of Devils fans is awsome. andy
Yah if it were a win that train would have been nuts. I can't imagine how it'd be during the playoffs. The NJT lady said that they cleared out the rags fans an hour prior so there weren't any (except those that went to the Devils game) on our train. Which one did you take?

thelastonealive
I also HIGHLY recommend walking through the Gateway Complex...we finally found out where it empties out to near the arena and took that way going back to the train station...beautiful little shops and stuff (most of which are closed, but hey), a few places to grab a bite to eat, and that Stadium Shop. Prices are pretty good and the people working there are the friendliest people you could meet. Walking through there will also be AWESOME come winter. Devs4LIFE
Getting in was easy and fun because the whole train was filled with devils fans. I saw a few people from the board but was too shy to say anything.

njskaguy33
Getting in and out was really easy...came in via 21 and left the same way. The line in was a bit ridiculous, but that will improve with time. I also want to mention how friendly everyone was working there...from the parking attendant to the guy serving beer, everyone was almost too nice! I thought I was in Minnesota or something Oh, and when the guy searching me said, "Welcome to the Rock...enjoy it", I got a shiver up my spine. Best 4-1 loss I've ever been to! Little Silver to Newark Penn - really easy, fastest train ride i've ever been on. got to Newark at 3:30 in time for the 4-7 fan fest that never took place. train home: Newark (1030) back to LS (1150) and was one of the slowest train rides home in recent memory. cant wait to do it all again on the 8th!!!!!!!!!!!!! Devils731
Easy drive in and out, much easier for me than sitting in the CAA parking lot for 20 minutes when it's a sellout.
CRASHER
Agreed... traffic was minimal on the way out and I was there by 3:30 so I won't count my trip into the place loved the free drink at the Arena bar for being the first Devils fans to walk in there!! Wednesday getting there will be a hefiter test!
Devilish34
Not bad getting there little pain getting out due to streets being closed/me not knowing where to go. It's just a haul for me but worth the trip when I can do it. I parked @ Starpark on Edison so I probably had on of the shortest walks, but prob the longest drive after the game.
