I also figured out why they want the old articles pulled, anything older then 14 days is archived and you have to pay to see it.

Just wanted to point out that I read the posts on articles by Chere, (N)Єverson and Gulitti today but not the actual articles. Had they been posted in this forum, I would have read them. But I really don't have the time to leave this site and read them elsewhere. Oh well...

Ditto on that. I usually read the news posts here, but rarely do i have time to hunt down each one

How would they get less reads as it seems no one was going to their site anyway! They'll probably get more as some people will likely go to the site now.
LOL Front page OMGWTFBBQ
DM....do they give any indication of how much of an article you could legally quote (while giving a link of course)? Or does it have to be a summary with none of the original material?
I will ask them and see what they say.

As for actually getting permission for the posting of the articles, the fee she mentioned is way beyond our means here to afford.

It really comes in handy for people in the profession, searching archived records and articles to dig up some quotes and information relating to a story. It's also good for journalism students, and for people who might be researching a certain thing and need a particular article to look over. Just saying, there are lots of people who actually do purchase archived articles, I've even done it in the past when I was a journalism student.
