More on-topic: Clarkson also had a hellouva first stint in the NHL, causing many to think he could be the new first line-RW solution. We've seen how that's panned out this season.

Shouldn't have let him go...I was and still am a huge Voros fan. He plays the game tough.
He's also 26 and got squeezed out in Lowell.
Not going to kill the Devils for letting go of a guy who might have a short NHL career as a 4th liner.

Even if they couldn't keep him at the NHL level why would guys like Murphy and Ryznar be kept instead. Ryznar can't skate and certainly isn't all that tough.

No disagreement there. Lowell wants penalty killers instead of 4th liners?

Voros wasn't a 4th liner in the AHL...2nd liner and hell Wild like him on their 3rd 4th line. Guys that mean and physical with ok hands should not be given away for chump change.

if he was a 2nd liner he was doing a terrible job. as an NHLer he projects to being a fourth liner given his scoring.

Yea, your probably right. But a gritty man with hands can be plugged into any line pretty much.

What about one who is slow and has little potential?
C'mon. Voros might latch on somewhere as a 13th forward type. That's it.

like dustin penner?
dustin penner scored almost 30 goals last year.
if aaron voros has 30 nhl goals total i will be very surprised - while many people passed on penner's skill set, he absolutely dominated the minor leagues in 05-06 as a 24 year old - 57 games, 39 goals, 45 assists. it takes voros 2 seasons to put up those numbers.
