Fred Thompson quits presidential race

"Today, I have withdrawn my candidacy for president of the United States. I hope that my country and my party have benefited from our having made this effort," Thompson said in a statement.
Thompson's fate was sealed last Saturday in the South Carolina primary, when he finished third in a state that he had said he needed to win.
In the statement, Thompson did not say whether he would endorse any of his former rivals. He was one of a handful of members of Congress who supported Arizona Sen. John McCain in 2000 in his unsuccessful race against George W. Bush for the party nomination.

I am shocked he didn't do better. You would think his experience as a DA in Manhattan would make him an attractive candidate to Republicans. Although NYC experience isn't helping Mr. A Noun, A Verb and 9/11 very much right now either.

I think that ship has sailed, sammy.

And your woman Hillary would be just fine without her hubby being President for 8 years as well?
I love how you generalize for the Republicans but turn the other cheek on your beloved Libs.

I am not generalizing. I am making very specific statements about very specific people. It is the opposite of generalizing. I am not a Hillary fan but you don't see her bringing up that she was first lady nearly as much as Mr. 9/11 enjoys mentioning that he is a moron for putting his city's command and control center in a prime terrorist target.

Generalizing. I don't think it means what you think it means. Generalizing would be saying "All Republican candidates for President are pricks." Calling Guliani "Mr. 9/11" is not generalizing. It is a very specific insult.
