I'm gonna miss Cam but I'm happy for him as well. He's a good guy and deserves a chance to play and it seemed he really liked being a Devil. Now he will be able to be close to his family again. best of luck to him.
This isn't a huge pick up but it's a decent move for the Devils and it only confirms that there is more to come.
Exactly. He gets to go home to St. Louis and play for his hometown team. It's gotta be a dream come true for him. The fans there will love him. But the fact that we were able to get anything other than a late round pick for him amazes me.

With Rupp taking on heavyweights like Ivanans this season, and Clarkson taking care of any middleweights - Janssen was extraneous. But he was also awesome. Oh well.
I can't see two defenders being moved so maybe Rachunek just gets dropped somewhere unpleasant? I guess we'll see how everything unfolds.

I think this is a good deal guys. Janssen did nothing for the Devils and I think Salvador will be good on defense for the Devils. Most likely on the line with White. Lou saw something in Salvador and I think Lou may not be done just yet. Sorry to see Janssen go but he was useless.

Devils get a solid stay at home guy to eat up minutes, St louis get a home town kid and a draft pick to sweeten the deal.
Ok so i was hoping for this , but salvador could be a nice addition.
Anyhow, this makes me more credible than Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate) as he wasnt even on the radar of devils St louis for a long time.

As much as I like Cam I think this deal is OK. It is a great move for Cam to play at home and Salvador, although not producing offensively like he was expected to early in his career, can't be any worse than some of the other D-men we have.
One would have to think that Lou has something else in the works to have so many D-Men on the roster.

You Devils' fans are great - best of luck to the team the rest of the season. I am now a St. Louis Blues' fan! Too bad things didn't work out in NJ but the Janssen family is very happy with this trade!!

Tri, I think Rachunek maybe next for maybe Robert Lang? I would like to see Havlat though. This was a good move for the Devils.

Oh give me a break. Everybody and their grandmother knows that cam wasn't here to score. That doesn't mean that he was useless to the team. The fans loved him and he was one tough s.o.b. I know he is no Andy Greene....

“In Bryce Salvador, we have acquired a veteran NHL defenseman with good size and strength who plays a physical game,” said Lamoriello. “We look forward to the depth Bryce will bring to our roster.”
Salvador, 32, is in his seventh National Hockey League season, and 11th year as a pro. The 6-2, 220-lb. defenseman has one goal and ten assists for 11 points and 43 penalty minutes in 56 games this season. He has career totals of 16 goals and 47 assists for 63 points and 413 penalty minutes in 447 games, all with St. Louis. The native of Brandon, Man. added two goals and one assist in 36 career playoff contests. Salvador spent three seasons with the AHL’s Worcester IceCats prior to making his NHL debut in 2000-01. He was Tampa Bay’s sixth choice, and the 138th selection in the 1994 Entry Draft. Salvador played five seasons of junior hockey at Lethbridge (WHL).
Janssen, 23, is in his third NHL season, and fourth season as a pro. He saw action in three games with the AHL’s Lowell Devils this season.
