I was listening to the radio and I heard that (this was just general sports news) that Shawn Avery hates sports and is going into the fashion district. But now I am doubting it because there is nothing about Avery on nhl.com. Anyone know anything about him??

well, they're probably just going off of his article in Men's Vogue. He says he hates sports in it, and he basically says he loves 2 things:fashion and himself (not in that order).

When he decides to sign another contract Martin Brodeur will be present and will keep putting his hand in the way of the pen while Avery is trying to sign.
This is how big your signature should be. Any larger and you are compensating.

You know what's funny...let say Avery signed in Nashville (or anywhere off the radar screen) - you guys would miss him. He is/was the best thing to happen to Rangers/Devils in years.
That said, I do not see him signing somewhere like that, he needs spotlight / big city.

A shame San Fransisco doesn't have a team....
But I do agree with BG... There isnt an edge to the rivalry anymore...

I think Shawn Avery will always have a home on the New York Raingers, along with such legendary players as Brendan Shanrahan, Yaromir Yager, and Henrik Lungkissed. Who knows? Maybe some day he'll have his number retired along with Wayne Grettsgy, Marc Mezzier, Brian Leach, Rod Gilbaire, Mike Rickter, and Eddie Yowcomein. It's all up to Glen Sadir.
