[Banzai Riley]

With Free Agency only 57 hours away, I thought it was time to see what everyone's final thoughts were.

You've had time to sort through the re-signings, the rumors and the ridiculous (anything Єklund (2.3% accurate) (2.3% accurate)). This isn't about who you think they should get but who they will. Name the right people and be able to officially say that you knew what the Devils were going to do before they did it. Or something like that. Feel free to explain them or don't, it's your call.




And if you really want to go for the whole kit and caboodle, try and say who will be on the team opening day.

basically i'm taking the pessimistic view that lou either gets shutout or just doesn't spend enough to get into any free agents that make sense.

Even if we only get Rolston, I think we will all be suprised and somewhat satisfied. I have faith in Lou that he will land one above average player. I wasnt too mad at the deadline because I knew that that wasnt the year. Now, no excuses Lou, git' r done!!

I think New Jersey gets shut out of the major free agent defender market but picks up either Stuart or Mara.

Other than that, I really can't say. I do think sundstrom's perception is quite off, especially since he's been the one noting that Lou spent 8 million dollars last year and will do so again this year. Last year he went hunting at the bargain aisle - this year he will step it up a bit.

just being pessimistic - he'll bring in someone for sure - like every trade deadline - he does something even if its pascal rheaume or jan hrdina. and the truth is he SHOULD get a big UFA because he should be prepared to overpay for someone that will make this team better - when all it costs is money and cap space - something the devils do have, he should be ready to bowl someone over to get them.

again - i'm basing on nothing but my nature to be pessimistic.
