If I'm using Firefox what might make me want to switch? I'm always happy to try out a new gadget if it sounds worthwhile.

While being less memory efficient when using tabs, each tab is a full browser so if 1 tab crashes it wont take the entire browser and other tabs with it, chrome still feels faster in loading web pages. The way that Chrome handles tabs in general with being able to break them out into different windows then back into the main one is pretty slick, but i know not everyone loves tabs the way i do. On the other side the thing that makes Firefox so great is the add ons, something i hope that Google taps into later on.

I haven't been thrilled with Chrome as far as streaming video goes. But with page loading, it wins.

Firefox has been just terrible with memory management and 3.0 was no fix. So far for me Chrome is using 1/3rd the resources Firefox did. It's neat, but nothing terribly new or exciting. You could always "min / max" Firefox or IE for the matter to give you just an address bar and tabs, chrome just comes stock like that. It's a little more intuitive and flashy with tab management and the homepage showing links to your most common visited sites is a spiffy addition.
One thing I hate tho is the pop up status bar, it's just too damn distracting.

I couldn't figure out how to make adblock work....I think I may be stupid.

Yah really, without add ons it's pretty useless.
It may be fast but it's like buying a race car. It doesn't have all the amenities and you can't drive it anywhere everyday.

Downloaded/installed it.. i dont recognize a speed difference..
edit: ok i did a test.. Yahoo.com and searched a common word (ie: dog).. in Firefox it went 0.42 sec.. In Google Chrome it went 0.17 sec.. so i guess it is faster. but really not noticable.. and also i noticed youtube takes awhile to load compared to how it loads on firefox

I like it. It has a lot of potential, but like previous people mentioned the whole ad thing is ridiculously annoying. I'm sticking with FF3 but I'll leave chrome on my computer.
Hahahaha...long overdue. Now they need to get rid of Jacobs.
The problem is, NJ only plays them 4 times a year. We were only able to get them to trade JT and fire the idiot GM. If we played them 8 times a year, maybe Jacobs might have an epiphany and sell the team.

That isn't an accurate metric. The browser's have no control over the speed at which yahoo does it's query and returns it to you, in fact if you run the same query multiple times on the same browser you will see different times. The time that is being displayed is being sent to the browser, not the browser measuring it.Downloaded/installed it.. i dont recognize a speed difference..

I used Chrome for a couple days and Im back to FireFox.. for me some pages take longer to load on Chrome than Firefox. Plus I have all my favorites on the top nav. bar in FF which makes it easier for me to use rather than having to think what sites to visit and then typing them in etc.
