Got a Andy Greene 10-11 white set 2, dont think its too bad for a first jersey

Not bad at all. One of my first game worns was a Greene jersey. Actually had an 11-12 gamer of his as my #4 choice on my list lol.

Did you go to the expo too? This is the first time I can remember where most people for their free blank authentic as part of the admission got 2.0's and something other than size 58 and 60. I got a white Washington caps 2.0 in size 56 this year

I doubt they care since they posted a pic of the winner at the expo on their Facebook Saturday night.

Thanks, DevsMan84.  I saw that Barry mentioned some people who weren't able to attend not wanting to know the results, but it wasn't like MGG itself was asking people not to talk about it.  I figured it was fair game to ask because everyone talking about it here attended the Expo.  Disappointed that I won't be opening up the grand prize but still excited to see what shows up at my door.

No problem and I never do the grab bag as I did it once and never again.  I guess I'd rather put my money towards something I want rather than gambling on a 1 in 75 chance of getting a really nice jersey.  I don't have an issue with people doing it but I just find it funny when I read people's disappointment on other forums that they didn't win one of the prizes or didn't get what they want.  I mean the odds are stacked pretty much against you.

Definitely. I have avoided it in the past. I just figured I'd take one shot at a Marty now that his playing days with the Devils are over. I'm never going to actually buy one of his jerseys.

as bad as I want one of his jerseys iam in the same boat.. the amount of money that meigray is asking for one is down right ridiculous for a hockey jersey.. meigray already pulled a bone job by changing the terms of the summer sale and they wont accept 50% off on the older jerseys I tried to work something out with them and they were not willing to work with me like they did in the past.. not sure what their problem is all of a sudden but makes me not want to buy from them

Meigray prices are always silly but it could be worse (*cough* Steiner *cough*).  I mean a non-rookie or special event Josefson is worth $750 while an Andy Greene is worth $450?  Please.  I can understand the price schemes in the first year as those who want first crack at them will pay, but when they are sitting on the shelves 2+ years Meigray should be going back and re-evaluating the prices on these jerseys.

Instead Meigray relies on stupid grab bags to clear inventory.  And why not?  60 out of the 75 jerseys in this grab bag were the non-prize jerseys of game-issued, preseason or training camp worn jerseys where if you put them up on ebay would at best get $150, maybe a little more if you are lucky.  Meigray now does about 3-6 grab bags a year and make a ton of money on them and they tap into the gamblers in the hobby.  At this point Barry might as well turn Meigray into a casino (i've even said this on other jersey collecting forums).

Fact is as long as these grab bags work at clearing dead stock then Meigray doesn't need to change.  They as well as a handful of others are the gatekeepers to a majority of the game-worn jerseys in the hobby so they also have that for them.  It is what it is and yes the terms of this year's summer sale is weak but this is what it is going to be.  If I would have known earlier about the buy one get one free offer I would have better prepared to budget myself for that, but the terms were not released until 2 days prior.  Now I know so I will probably do that next year.

Forgot to mention my pickup at the summer sale.

I only got one jersey since I blew some earlier funds on getting a Stadium Series gamer in May plus some emergency repairs on my new home (believe it or not lightning struck my place and destroyed/damaged a bunch of stuff).

I ended up getting a white Zajac Set 2 from 11-12 season.  In my excitement of this being available (as well as other distractions), I didn't do my usual due-dilligence beforehand and found out after that he only wore this jersey for 1 game on 3/25/12 against the Pens where he had an assist.  He was injured for most of that season and the jersey has very little wear to it which is disappointing, but dammit it's still a Zajac GW lol.

I should have gone with my #3 on my list as I would have been able to do the BOGO offer.  Oh well.

I think you are looking at the Kovy gamers for $2495 each right?  Since those are 12-13 gamers, I do not think they are part of the BOGO free offer, but instead just 25% off ($1871.25 plus tax or $2002.24 in NJ)

Anyone go to the meigray warehouse sale this afternoon? I was there and was actually first on line lol.

Anyway got what I wanted which was the zajac 11-12 white set 2. Has a little bit of wear but not much. Still happy with it and wish the terms were a little better since they changed them for this year but still got it cheaper than on eBay.

Thats not true, my Zajac jersey I have for sale on ebay has A LOT more wear and less than what you paid. And is photomatched

If you are talking about the zajac that has been on there for months now for $575 plus shipping I can assure you I paid less than that. Hell I paid less than $500 for mine from meigray.

I'm happy with what I have regardless of minimal wear.

just thought i would share this even though chances are most of you probably already know of this site but incase you dont... I just discovered a site called zimbio.com It seems to be a great picture website for finding photomatches. Looks like they have a lot of the same images as getty but when you zoom in on the pictures (i use an ipad) the images stay much clearer and it seems to be so much easier to find ware in the photo's to match up to the shirts. Just figured i would share this its made matching my jerseys to several pictures much easier!

Matched my Daneyko helmet. Pretty easy, missing a screw............... He only wore this type of Bauer from what I can tell from Getty Images beginning of 1999 to around Feb of 2000 (Stanley Cup Year). After that the Bauer's he wore did not have the black pads in the ear guards.
