Wow-ee-wee-wow....

It appears we got a 1993-94 Bobby Holik NJ Devils Jersey on the Bay....

A CCM Maska Ultrafil Set I

Holik Gameworn

A BIN of $500.00

I'm definitely in on this if it doesn't go too high...

Holik was at $400.00 last I saw and pretty sure it'll fetch close to $500.00 given the year. Good stuff though.

I found this nice pre-season.
http://cgi.ebay.com/...-NE...:1|294:50

Petr Kuchyna pre-season with iron on numbers. Cheaper Red/Green for those interested.

Change that $450.00... about the same as pre-economic disaster woes +/- about $100.00. I haven't seen much from that year. Looking for the elusive Tom Chorske, John Maclean, and Rolstons' froms that year.

Well we got a new Game Worn NJ Patrick Elias Home 2007-08 on Ebay:
Elias Game Worn
Reebok 2.0 Set III - Playoffs
Light wear, "A" attached, Meigray docs and such

BIN is set close to $600.00

BTW, anyone notice the BIN was removed on the Bobby Holik Jersey??????

Can a seller do that at any given time?

Additionally, the Alex Brooks that won't die from Katrina night is back....
Brooks Game Worn
But this time the BIN is set over $300 and opening bid is significantly higher than the $200.00 it was when last appeared. Curious.

This is the Elias I was offered recently. I cannot speak a bad word about the seller as he is was very accomodating. However, for a grab bag item... It sucks. The description of "Light wear" really means "NO VISIBLE WEAR". You see the only mark below the #26 and I have no idea what the other picture is for. Good luck matching as I have tried with no success. Still, compared to the rest of the Elias items out there.... $600.00 is a great price. Sadly, with no wear I'll take my chances on NOT buying it. Rumor has it the Set 2 white from the other grab bag has about the same for wear.

Not sure if you can change or remove the BIN mid-auction, but this is Ebay and I wouldn't doubt it as long as it is not in the final 24-48 hours of the auction.

I noticed it was removed as well. I'm guessing that his reserve was the $500.00, which is pretty close to the bids now. I thought that the buy it now price is removed once people bid on it, but that wasnt the case with this one. Its nice to see some sort of variety on the bay. I only wish that the tampa "rays" would stop clogging up the pages!

I think the Brooks jersey has the Garth Brooks patch. Looks like this seller bought the jersey on ebay a while ago and it trying to get rid of it as well. Its the same guy selling both the Elias and Brooks.

This was from the Meigray g-bag. Light wear would be putting it mildly.

I think once it hits reserve, the BIN is removed. Alot of usual suspects bidding on this. Seller sent me an unsolicited nasty e-mail a year or so ago regarding something, so good luck to him with it.

The Brooks jersey was sold to the current seller like a week ago or so for under $199.00 on best offer, now he's flipping it. This seller is the same seller as the Elias and is a known markup jackal as he's not a hockey collector, just a flip artist. I have no idea why he thinks he can turn a profit on a jersey that hasn't sold when it was listed at least a half dozen times @ $199.99.

I hate when a jersey is flipped ASAP within a few days or a week. It's arrogant, IMO.

Off topic a little.

I bid on the Lags Stars sweater on the bay. Anyone else after it? I don't want to step on toes...

Hello all-

Been lurking for a while here. Great site. Just wanted to post and introduce myself.

I got my first Devils gamer this week. It is the Dainius Zubrus 08/09 White Set 1. It was delivered on Tuesday from MGG and it is a very cool shirt. I would classify the wear as very good to excellent (at least talking in terms of the current shirts and their respective wear). Has 8-10 repairs depending on how you count and very good stick/puck marks. One being a stick slash across the lower hem up and across the crest. repairs range from small 1/4 inchers to 2-3 inch repairs. Also has a large "patch" repair on the sleeve.

Chorske has been a HUGE help and provided 2 nice photomatches for me.

I also have other gamers but since this is the Devs game worn thread, I will keep it to that.

Thanks,
Derek

Derek,

You are welcome and let me know what you need help with in regards to other gamers... Send me a PM and I may be able to help depending on the year/player. I have a fairly large library and it is growing daily. Anyone else need anything shoot me an email. I only ask if you have any good scans of older (2000 and earlier years) that you share with me.

Is this is a match? I'm sorry it does not show the lower hem on the front... You would know better than I.

Curious to know why some Devils wear the Warrior gloves with fabric and some have a glossy look to them.

Matt-

It was this shot. Notice the repair on the rib cage area and the patch repair on the left forearm area.

The stick mark across the chest must have happened after this. I matched that to a later shot on getty.

Glad I could help. Go print it out and hang it next to your sweater! Sorry I don't have the other photo that shows the mark across the chest. I'll try to acquire it. No promises.

Crosby grab bag from meigray... They raised the price to $595 plus $20 fro shipping. I'm debating it, the value of the other jerseys are a bit more, but the chance to get a Crosby means a chance at a Brodeur or at least I think so.

Any one grab baggin?

No way! The only way I'd ever consider doing a grab bag is if there was an actual Brodeur as the grand prize.

I wouldn't bother either. I don't know why they won't put a Brodeur in. Is it because all the other GRAND PRIZE (if you want to call that) have been worn for less than two games? Deep inside, I don't think I would get involved for a Brodeur either. Especially since the one they'll probably do is the "Daneyko" retirement night bench worn. I'm so glad, these guys are pumping money into the grab bags, maybe when something good comes out, I'll have money to burn and they'll still be stuck with their "Marek Malik Set two blue with a light mark on the front hem".

To follow up:

The Grab bag game is just a fancy way for MeiGray to dump inventory that isn't going to move. Minor wear, no wear, one game wonders, and what have you. You'll never see a collection worthy piece available because of this. Sure, there will be Crosby, Ovechkin, and others, but the wear will never be there. If you are okay with just getting a sweater of a player you want, that isn't going to hold 1/2 of the retail value THEY say it will, and aren't concerned with wear than the grab bag is the way to go. If not, save your money for the real deal.

Exactly. I can't believe people are still falling for this gimmick desgined to move dead inventory. It's like they just don't see through the whole thing for what it is. It also goes to show that since this is the 3rd grab bag that MeiGray must be behind on sales due to the economy and are looking to dump inventory to make $. I refuse to believe in a recession that they are still cranking as business as usual without missing a beat. People buying into the grab bag wouldn't even take a second look at 95% of the jerseys in it. Just goes to show you how little brains and how too much money are rampant among people in this hobby which is half of the problems in it as whole. Looks like P.T. Barnum was right. Credit MeiGray for being smart enough to do this and credit the people buying into it for being fooled without them knowing it.

I think a team geared grab bag would be a good idea. Like if they just had a grab bag for Devils jerseys. This way you are assured and Devils gamer, and chances are you can trade with other people (like ourselves) depending on who we get.
