Haha, I am sorry didn't we sweep them last series we played. Sounds like you met fans are alittle jealous you didn't make the playoffs 2 years in a row. Only one that is making sense is Colorado, good to see Advocate on here. Now I am not the only one on this board who likes the Phils.

-You swept the Brewers? So did we. And actually I dont recall SD ever saying anything about whose winning round 1 between PHI/MIL.
-Jealous? Far from it. A 2 year playoff drought is nothing compared to the Phillies' drought they finally broke last year, with great help from the Mets.
-Congrats on not being the only Philly fan. I think theres like 2 on this whole board..

Go talk smack when they actually win the World Series.. they didn't even reach the NLCS yet and you are declaring them champions.. The only way I see them advancing probably is if the LAD upset the Cubs.

I guess you missed (or actively ignored) the post where Verran said he was joking. Criticizing a fan of a rival team (excepting Rangers or Flyers fans) for hyperbole in a thread dedicated to the celebration of that team's success (so far) does smack a little of the green eyed monster.

And what does the ratio of Mets to Phillies fans in a forum dedicated to a team whose fan base is primarily from North of Trenton prove? Is that supposed to be meaningful in any way?

Hes the one who brought it up.

I really could care less if the a$$hole is joking or not. Hes been talking out of his ass all year, do it when they actually win something instead of declaring them WS champions before the playoffs even start, as if they are even the best team in the NL; fool.

He brought it up. Because he feigned confidence in a WS win? :noclue: Okay then.

How much less could you care? ... Nevermind. It is the nature of sports fans to talk out of their ass. None of us can play our ways out of it, that's why we're fans not players. The fact is, he acknowledged on two separate occasions in this thread that the WS is by no means guaranteed for the Phillies. Grow either up or a few more dermal layers. For your own sake.

Of course he comprehends jokes. He is a Mets fan, after all. :P

if you all haven't noticed, there is no god. the only team more of a fraud then the phillies were the brewers, and now you skip the best team in the NL because they laid a BIG FAT EGG in the post-season.

phils/bosox in the world series and i will not watch one second of it.

Hopefully DODGERS/SOX WS!

I love how Philthadelphia radio never learns their lesson. I heard the afternoon idiots yesterday basically dismiss the Dodgers and were talking about which team they will face in the series since they will obviously just blow by the Dodgers.

The Angels forgot how to play postseason baseball because they werent playing the Yankees.
Stupid gutless asses who can only get up for NYY, and I am not too high on their fans who GOT OUT OF THE WAY of a pop-up in the stands allowing Youkalis could catch it late in Game 2 with runners on base.
I hope that Rally Monkey gives everyone at that game the outbreak disease.
I guess K-Rod didnt point to god enough during the regular season.
Im pretty bitter.

I don't mean to be rude. But the only people who are dumber than the people who call into sports talk radio are the people who search for intelligence from the people who call into sports talk radio. I've listened to enough WIP and FAN to know this is universal.

I plead the fifth on the intelligence level of people who listen to sports talk radio enough to know this.

Fact is: One win away with Hamles and Meyers set to go in the next two! :beerbang:

Torre should have the book thrown at him for that HORRIBLE use of his pitchers last night. Not just once but four times. And then WTF did they pitch to that fat bastard for in the 8th when they had K Roll on deck???? Uhg!

:argh: I can not stand how pitchers are pulled out after throwing 14 times and getting nothin but outs. Let the guy go til he F's up! :doh1:

We are in a good spot, our best 2 pitchers will be a challenge to beat in a row. Also we still have Game 6&7 at home if we need them, lets hope Hamels takes care of business, so I can have a cold one on the Phillies making it to the World Series for the first time since '93
