mauer's having one of the all time best years out of a catcher. It's just unreal. He better win it or the "valuable" thing is getting beyond ridiculous

God I love Nick Swisher. He has exceeded my expectations 200x.

It's amazing what the Yanks have done with walk-offs this year.

I love the fact that Cashman got Swisher for practically nothing. Also have to give Cashman credit for upgrading the bench with Hinske and Hairston for nothing, hell even through in the Molina deal from a couple of years ago in that lump. As nice as the signings of players like Sabathia, Burnett, and Teixeira are, its important to not overlook those smaller moves. Even the minor league system has had a resurgence under Cashman's eye.

Congrats to Jeter for tying the Yankee hit record! If things go well maybe he'll get a chance to break it tonight!

Congrats to Derek Jeter. One of the classiest athletes of our generation passes perhaps the classiest athlete of any generation on the sport's most storied franchise's all-time hit list. Quite an accomplishment.

It's sad to think what that list may have looked like if Gehrig had never gotten sick, if DiMaggio hadn't missed three seasons in his prime serving his country, if Mickey or the Babe had actually taken care of their bodies, if Mattingly ever had any protection in the lineup, etc. But none of that should take any shine off what Deej accomplished today.

Now let's get back to winning!

Well said.

Also let's please not get swept by the Orioles. That would be an embarrassment.

Ohh-- check it out. This is my project to graduate my school's top architecture class (using a program called AutoCAD)-- build a current, true-to-form stadium. Naturally, I picked Yankee stadium. Only problem is, my file is so big, I have to break it up into several different files (i.e: front, bleachers, field, grandstands, corner sections, etc.). Regardless, here is my current work in progress of the "front" part of Yankee stadium, which has the seats and everything inside of it. Check it!

Always nice to beat the Angels, hopefully they do it in the post-season too. Oh, and did I ever mention how much I hate bunting? Hopefully that doesn't cost them a game in the post-season.

Martysb3tt3r, cool stuff!

it's hilarious to read Pete Abe go crazy about Jeter bunting every time in his game posts but seriously they have to stop. If somebody like Jose Molina bunts I guess I could live with it but with Jeter, it's beyond ridiculous. Girardi should realize this isn't the national league

I'm very glad to say that I was wrong. That was important to get that off their back.

I know the last thing you want is guys to get hurt or suspended in a brawl but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy with Jorge. I love when players stand up for themselves and its always exciting to watch a brawl. Nice to see Damon, Teixeira, and Duncan not be afraid to get in there. Though Damon and Teixeira were looking for more of a peace making role than an actual fighting role but they still had Posada's back. I also found it funny that Carlson looked like he was on the verge of tears in the dugout with that nice gash on his head. Go Yankees!
