Due to the schedule, the Devils are going to have the same problem as they play 3 in 4 again.

Still do not know and there is no word yet. I would guess Weekes, but if Clemmesen starts he needs to continue the solid play and have to watch for a let down in this game after last night. I think it will be Weekes.
Or Clemmy has to hope the team continues to play so well his job is made easy. Last nights goaltending was horrific. I find it unfathomable that Weekes wouldn't start after that crapfest last night.

With Weekes we better hope it won't be a crapfest, because Buffalo can score goals. Clemmensen has been doing good and he needs a rest after last night. Even the best of them like Brodeur lets in bad goals like Clemmensen did last night vs. the NYR. He got the win and played well after that 5th goal was scored. Weekes I have NO confidence in and if Buffalo lights him up tonight (if Weekes is playing) I will not be susprised. Devils need to keep the train running tonight and hope their is no let down.

Yes, he gave up some questionable goals, but a few of them were complete flukes. For example, the tying goal that squeezed under his arm...that happens to Marty all the time.
With that said, I think tonight should definitely be Weekes, but I still think Clemmensen has been playing outstanding and has been doing so consistently. Even the best goalies have crazy games.

Yep, Weekes against Buffalo was amazing. It would have been like if Lundqvist held us to 2 goals last night.
The Clemmerlove goes a little too far. He wasn't good last night, give him a rest. Too much comparing him to Brodeur going on now. The "maybe this will kill Marty's ego" post from last night was one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Marty seemed to be enjoying the game last night... yeah, he was secretly hoping the team would fail so he'd look better.
It's time to go to more of a rotation unless one of the goalies vastly outperforms the other. Clemmer played well, but Weekes got the hook after a WIN, basically because he gave up one bad goal. (and it was a doozy)

If you don't think this is slightly hurting Brodeur's ego than you don't understand professional athletes. No one ever said it will kill Brodeur's ego, but what if the Devils keep winning, and winning. Suddenly the media really picks up on how the Devils are playing just as good as they ever have with a no name defense and a no name goalie. Suddenly they might be talking about the system in Jersey being the key, and maybe Brodeur wasn't as important as before.
In no way was I saying that this will affect him at all. Just puts your ego in check for a little bit. I am not saying he isn't enjoying the team winning either. For example,
Steve Smith is a receiver for the Carolina Panthers. He like most big time receivers has quite an ego. He got suspended for the first two games of the season and most people said they were screwed. Well they scored a ton of points in both games and went 2-0. This was a guy who mostr experts said was the offense. Next week he comes back and says I don't need to be the offense anymore. This team showed that they can win without me. It defintely showed that this team can without me...Here is one of the quotes I could find.
" "The team is 2-0. That says this about this team: no Smith, no problem," Smith wrote. "I come in now and I'm just a guy. I don't have any pressure. I don't have to do anything extra. I catch balls and go home.
"This is the least pressure I've felt in my eight-year career."
I'm sure at times Marty felt for good reason he was the guy, and if he didn't play his best this team wouldn't win. Maybe that is changed now. That's all. And it is a good thing.
And never did I say he wanted the team to fail..so please don't put words in my mouth. I said I am guessing he didn't expect this.

"The Stanley Cup has fallen from the Stars. The new millennium has its first Stanley Cup Champion, and it's the New Jersey Devils." Mike Miller calling the Devils winning the Stanley Cup.
"It goes to the captain and then there are handoffs during a skate around the ice" Mike Emrick as Scott Stevens is being presented the Stanley Cup.
