Holik did not deserve the second 2-minute penalty for roughing tonight, which led to the 2nd PPG by the Flyers. It should have been only the 2-minutes for boarding and 4 on 4 hockey. It was BS and the PK let up another PPG.

Whether or not he deserved the penalty isn't the question. As a professional, Holik needs to know that the PK is having trouble, and thus not even put himself in a situation where a penalty could possibly be called. The Devils need to make it so obvious that a penalty was not committed, that the official barely even has to use his judgment.

you're not amazed it took this long ???

NoGoalik lives and functions :P

once they took him from playing center and he stopped winning faceoffs he became almost useless to this team

Pay homage to the INCREDIBLE scoring goalie!!!! :-)

I saw CRASHER trip a kid on skates and then he stole the kids lunch money and slapped his mom when she came to pick him up.. All because the kid looked at his crease

CRASHER's official list of high stick victims from this forum:
gionta182, devilsfan26 .... WHO'S NEXT??

2005 Fantasy Football League Champion... Bow to my Football knowledge !!!!!!

2003-04 NJDevs.com winner of the Masterton Award for Dedication to the Devils(still proud of that one !)

4, Four (!?!?) Time (2005-2008) NJDevs.com winner of the Whoever the damn Award for the funniest poster in the land is named after...(geesh... post pressure, but I seem ok with it!)
TWO TIME (2005, 2006) Award Winner and the man who can show Jeremy Roenick what a REAL loudmouth is all about.... hell this mouth roars SO loud, they retired the DAMN AWARD!!!! But how do you be emotional about an award for being most emotional when you're sharing it?

2008 NJDevs Stanley Cup Winner for best overall poster... where's my damn ring?

June 6, 2007... the NHL dies just a little bit.....

Holik could benefit from a few games off at this point. He looks like dogsh!t along the boards and its not like he was scoring goals or creating them for others anyway.

"We hit each other with a couple," he said. "But it felt good-- more the part of hitting him that him hitting me. That felt better. But just being in it. It's been a while. It's not something you get to do when you don't play in the NHL and stay out of jail. Usually, that's frowned upon in society. But it's fun to go against a tough guy just to challenge yourself."

"It was a 3-0 call," Bobby Holik said simply, referring to the score at the time. "I think it was the first time ever for the teams I've played for."

"Not for me," he said. "I always try to play well and I always prepare and practice the same way every day whether it's the off-season, training camp or the 52nd game of the season (which it is tonight). That's one thing that's beyond my control as far as three goalies, four goalies and coaching decisions on who plays and who doesn't.

"I like to think that I'm somebody that takes my job seriously and I do those things at a high level. When I do that and practice well and I put in the time and as much extra, the other stuff is beyond my control. I can sleep comfortably at night knowing that I do everything I need to do to help my teammates and to be able to play the way I'm capable of playing when given a chance."

Scoring chances against remain low. Scoring chances for have doubled. It's Sutter hockey, and it's working.

"Sure it's difficult, but you've got to make decisions and Whitey's going to go back in the lineup and someone's going to come out,"

Rubbish, on the second "call" the Blackhawk was off balance and losing an edge. Sutter won't bench him because he thinks those calls against him were b/s.

Not that this should override his sh!t play recently, but he just had a very strong second period. He did exactly what he was brought here to do; hit and bring intensity, while not taking penalties.

Just some observations from game against the Hurricanes 3/28

As Holik is skating out of the offensive zone, Cam Ward must have said something. Bobby looks back and starts yapping then makes a choking signal to Ward. :noclue:

Holik is skating to the Devils bench as play is going up ice. There is a Canes player near Holik with his back toward Holik. Bobby just gives the Canes player a little jab with the stick. The Canes player just looks back with a WTF look. (I don't know whether something happened before or it was Bobby being Bobby.)

Anyway I just love the behind the play interactions between players. B )

bobby holik cannot play another shift in the playoffs. put in pelley, or move rupp to wing and use leblond, he simply cannot be out on the ice when important things are going on.
