I was in Sports Minded Unlimited today where the Zach Parise signing is going on tomorrow and among my purchases were 2 of the old style authentics, I believe from 06-07. I wasn't sure if anyone here prefered these style jerseys to the new style. I know I do. They are $100 each. No numbers no name plates. I have included pics for those that are interested.
It has the fight strap, numbered sizing, reinforced elbows, and stiched on logo on the front. Brian had a range of sizes but mostly 52, 56, 58. Also a couple of goalie cut jerseys too. He had like 35-40 of the jerseys total.
FYI not all of the jerseys had the blue tag from the 3rd picture. They seemed like a solid deal.

$100 is a little much for the pre-Edge authentics, but you are buying it at as secondary market item from a retailer w/a store and at what i call a "point of purchase" where it's usally higher being it can go hand in hand with the auto guest.
I'd say $75 is a good cost for these but, as i said, in that setting you'd pay more.
Having said that, just wanted to let everyone know Brian @ Sportsminded is a good guy and if you can get out for this please do!

Y'know, I might have to go buy one and then get it customized somewhere. It'd probably wind up being cheaper than a premier. Where is this place?

I guess I can see your point of view. It just seemed like these are $100 plus approx $65 to number it which beat current Edge authentic pricing by about $75+/-; for a jersey style I (and possibly others) prefered.
I guess I may not be in the market often enough to get them for $75.

A sports store by me was going out of business so I went in and scoped out the place. They had a white reebok authentic listed at $100. Everything in the store was listed at 50% off. When I went to the register to pay for the jersey the guy said and I quote "that will be $20".
I was trilled/shocked!
Anyways I think I'll send it to exclusive pro to get customized with Parise!

Great deal. What is the cost of lettering at Exclusive Pro?

It depends on the jersey. I think the most expensive is $65. Devils jerseys should be somewhere around 50.
How many were there when you saw them? I've been looking for an uncustomized one of these forever! Argh I wish I saw this thread earlier, hopefully they still have some.

Holy crap! How long ago was this? Are they still open?

There were a good amount left maybe 30-35. Mix of both colors. A good amount of 52s and 56s.

The place closed down at the end of January. It was kind of sad because I had been going there for about twelve years, but the guy behind the counter was a total D-Bag. The only authentic that was there was the one I got. They had replica Martys and stuff like that.
Exclusive pro does the best job. Its worth the wait. It takes a month or two because I'm sure they have a ton of jerseys to do. They do great work though. My Madden (red) and Rafalski on my webshots was done by them if you want an example.

Yea those guys are great. I think another reason it takes a while is because they are pretty small. It seems like every time I call them they transfer me to the guy that actually customizes the jerseys, and it's always the same guy.

That is good news I will call them first thing tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!

Alright they put one on hold for me and I'm going to pick it up as soon as I get my car fixed! The guy on the phone said they "have about 200 of these things."

Good to know. I'm gonna see if I can go grab one this weekend.

Just picked up two of these things. The guy there said he just got these last week straight from the guy that owns Meigray, (company that sells game-worn jerseys), who happens to live in Warren. Apparently these were made to actually be worn by the players before they switched over to the Edge atrocities, so he had over a hundred of these 06-07 leftovers and sold them at a discount to the guy from Sports Minded.
I asked him why some of them have that Reebok tag in the hem neck and some don't, and he said it was because they are supposed to be taken off before given to the players or something, and some of them never got that far. I wasn't totally convinced that these weren't just old leftover retail versions, but he said you can also tell by the tag on the sleeve. Maybe SJP or someone else who knows more about the differences between game-worn and retail authentics can provide some more info. I'll take pictures when I get home from work later tonight.
EDIT: Uh not sure if hem means top or bottom so I decided to use a word that I know.

I have a Devils authentic like yours that came from MeiGray. If you look on the lower, left side of the back of the jersey, you might be able to see where the MeiGray tag was removed. This is the case with the one I have.

Here's the jersey and sleeve tag that supposedly distinguishes it from regular retail authentics. Can anybody confirm that this is different than the sleeve tags on this is actually different?

Ah yea you're right. I didn't even notice that, thanks. Here's a picture of that.

I'm not sure about the sleeve tags, but the remnants of the MeiGray tag should be more than enough to verify the store's story as to where they acquired the jerseys.

Yea once you said that and I found it on my jerseys I was convinced. I think part of the reason why I was skeptical was because I thought that instead of having the tag in the neck with the Canadian flag and the size, there should just be a smaller tag that only says the size, but after looking at pictures of the 06-07 game-worns, I guess that was only on the older ones or something.
One thing I noticed is that the black outline on the right part of the J is thicker than any other part of the logo, and it's the same on every one of these jerseys. It looks kind of weird, does anybody know why that looks like that?
EDIT: (meant to say game-worn, not authentic)
