Is there an option so people can add tags relevant to the topic to make searching easier and faster?

Hmm, I don't know. I have seen that on other forums. I don't think this software has it though, might be an Vbulletin board thing. I'll look, Rowdy might beat me though.

I know I've seen it somewhere, but a quick look through my usual haunts isn't turning anything up.
