Best part was when he called out his players for being there.. Not like a bad call-out, but a funny "gotcha" one

He must have forgot Conte because there was no mention. He's probably very upset about it too.

"The Stanley Cup has fallen from the Stars. The new millennium has its first Stanley Cup Champion, and it's the New Jersey Devils." Mike Miller calling the Devils winning the Stanley Cup.

"It goes to the captain and then there are handoffs during a skate around the ice" Mike Emrick as Scott Stevens is being presented the Stanley Cup.

You are probably right. I thought that was a little odd. I liked the semi-shot at Roy towards the end of the speech when he said that "I asked everyone who they would want in net for the most important game of their lives, and they all said Marty." or something along those lines...EXCELLENT! No doubt that is why he threw that in there...

+1!

It was also great to see some of the players (Brodeur, White, Langenbrunner, Parise, Pandolfo and coach Stevens) to show up for Lou. The comment Lou made was also funny about the players coming right from practice and hope to make it home for their curfews. LOL!

Yeah that was glaring. He also didn't mention a wife? Divorced? Deceased?

re: rookie secty- he was saying she works so hard and gets so much done he can't imagine how she found time to get out of the office. You guys are so harsh even.

I've heard he's divorced.

I'm glad I finally took the time to watch. Very cute speech. Thanks for the link.

^7^ is just defending his sport sheeps.. as Alcibiades the exiled Athenian rationalizes in his speech to the enemy Spartans, he wants to take revenge on Athens because he loves it and can't stand to see the state it's in now - Triumph
