I'm not worried about their fans. They go to 1-2 Rangers home games a year on average. Real blue-collar hockey fans simply can't afford to be a dedicated game-attending Rangers fan. The large majority of their fan-base treats going to Rangers games during the regular season the way they treat going to a Broadway show and a fancy restaurant. It's a rare thing they treat themselves to, maybe on birthdays or special occasions.

In a series like this, the more annoying aspect we're going to have to deal with is the everyday Joe Schmoe that used to watch the Messier/Gretzky Rangers and is joining in the discussion now for old-time fun's sake, spewing the same 4-5 Rangers talking points they got off The Post through the years (we're bankrupt, Parise's going to the Rangers on July 1, we're a trap team that killed the NHL, and Marty's fat and "banged his wife's sister").

Overall, we dealt with the Flyers fans in our building with a real intense vengeance. We can deal with these fairweather softies that don't even wear jerseys to their own home-games. MSG looks like a Men's Wearhouse ad. Their fans are nothing to worry about. I've never had anything more hurtful yelled at me when I was at MSG than that "Marty's fat". I replied, "That's good, so it'll be harder for the 300 homeless people outside your ****** arena to pry the 3 Stanley Cup rings off his fat fingers then."

Still, the biggest thing we have over Rangers fans is our three Stanley Cups.

When is 1 greater than 3? When you're a Ranger fan!

They throw logic out the window everytime you try and have a conversation with them. Their nickname for Martin Brodeur, a future Hall of Famer, 2 gold medal winner, 3 Stanley Cup winner, came from Sean Avery, a retired 30 year old who's giving fashion advice as a contributor to GQ.

And some of their fans STILL WANT HIM BACK...

Rangers fans be Rangers fans, even in Australia...

Saying the Devils are a one man team behind Kovalchuk. Talk about naive and hypocritical *facepalm*

I knew a Rangers fan once.

Dumbest guy I ever met.

"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness."

Hugh Jessiman! He finally managed to play a few games in the NHL.

Most of them probably won't know what you're talking about though.

Hello fellow American. This you should vote me. I leave power. Good. Thank you, thank you. If you vote me, I'm hot. What? Taxes, they'll be lower... son. The Democratic vote is the right thing to do Philadelphia, so do.
How do you spot risk? How do you avoid risk? And what makes it so risky?

"@JessicaLynn312: @NewYorkPuck no need to stand out in front of MSG with those ugly jerseys and then taunt us on the train."

Of course there is! You do it to our fans on the train, even when we aren't playing you that night, we just happen to have games that got done at the same time and the trains come from Penn...

Another example of how the Rangers fans can dish it out, but can't take it when it's thrown back at them.

Look at them all throw a hissy fit when someone tells them Rangers hockey is "boring" and "killing hockey".

From (ironically) an Islander fan on HF:

Outsiders perspective.

Devils win 3 Stanley cups while having some of the highest GF totals in the league.
"Hockey is being ruined by the trap. NJ's success comes with a giant *"

Devils abandon the trap post lockout
"Devils games are the equivalent of an afternoon nap"

Devils storm through the playoffs playing a forecheck intensive system
"The Devils have the most boring series in the playoffs"

Rangers win two rounds in 14 games using the brilliant 6 goaltender system, never scoring more than 3 goals, usually 1 or 2
"THRILLING, SCINTILLATING, EXCITING!!!! HOCKEY IS ALIVE IN NEW YORK BABY. THE WHOLE CITY IS ON THE EDGE OF THEIR SEAT WITH RANGER FEVER!!!!"

A perfect prism of why I can't stand the Rangers and most of the media lol.

"The Devils have high standards, that's the difference. We have a standard to live up to every year, and a couple of teams in our area don't have the standards we do." - Pat Burns

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

A devils fan never has to say the following:

1. John Tortorella coached the Devils
2. Sean Avery played for the Devils

Torts really reminds me of those deranged hockey dads who jumps on the ice and either attacks the ref or other team's players in the middle of the game because he feels his team or kid was "wronged"

Their consolation prize will be retiring Jeff Beukeboom's jersey next year.

Is it Beukeboom next year? I heard it was gonna be Steve Larmer. EDIT: haha, I didn't realize that was from last year. Anyway, I believe Doug Lidster's jersey will be going to the rafters next.
