Lou was on the ice when the Devils were still congratulating themselves. He disappeared when the handshake started.Did anybody see if Lou was on the ice for the celebration?

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming...OF THE CUP!!!
(Sorry if this offends anyone but I had to say it
The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

Thanks to the 'tender who served me a free congratulatory shot of Crown Royal.
Thanks to the Bruins, Lightning, Senators, and Ducks for their roles in this run.
Thanks to the board members (especially the admins) for their role in keeping me in tune with the team.
And finally, a big thank you and congratulations to Waldo and the Devils for this special season. A season in which all the "experts" had them as also-rans, When one thinks of all the adversity and anti-New Jersey/Devils bias this team has overcome, it is a great and well-deserved victory indeed.

"The Stanley Cup has fallen from the Stars. The new millennium has its first Stanley Cup Champion, and it's the New Jersey Devils." Mike Miller calling the Devils winning the Stanley Cup.
"It goes to the captain and then there are handoffs during a skate around the ice" Mike Emrick as Scott Stevens is being presented the Stanley Cup.

Holy old thread! We are pushing three years here!
The Ducks may win the Cup but the Mighty Ducks won't!
I will flush all the money I have down the toilet the day I see Mickey Mouse's name on the cup.
And how do you find a thread from three years ago?!? My goodness I have difficulty getting past this week!

Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is!
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!

Well, the arguement has been made over and over again, but the general idea is that Giguere was the MOST valuable player TO his team in the playoffs, which probably weighed VERY heavily upon the judges. Marty was great, but so was Langenbrunner, Friesen, Pandolfo, Niedermayer, etc etc etc. We had easily five or six guys who could have contended for the Smythe, while the Ducks clearly had only one -- JS Giguere. Without Giguere, the Ducks don't make the Finals. Sure, they had Sykora with a wonderful run, but he wasn't the key cog, Giggy was. And I was perfectly fine with him getting MVP, although it would have been nice to see Marty or another Devil get it, I understood why none did.
