Are you saying that Brodeur and Lundqvist are married?
LOL! No. Lundqvist is not even close to Brodeur as being a King. It pisses me off when they call Lundqvist the king. he is far from that.

thoughts on madison square garden from the 400 section:
sight lines are terrible, as i've read, and i was far away from the action.
the other rangers fans in the section were straight out of a neil simon play with accents and speech. amusing things: they think langenbrunner is a terrible captain for team USA and made fun of that all night. they also think avery really gets a raw deal from the refs.
anyway what i really saw from the 400 section is that the devils really, really need a center. they are great along the boards and stuff, but generally good playoff teams don't let you win there a lot. if the devils can't enter the zone with the puck or make a crisp pass as the first man in, they are going to have to do a lot to both draw penalties and get quality scoring chances. the good news is that the rangers can be beat along the boards all night. this team really misses dainius zubrus, it's good to hear that he is skating again.

I agree with Tri.. at least 10% Devils fans... my section we got an unstoppable let's go Devils' chant going... it was awesome
The lighting in there is so dingy that the ice looks yellow... though after last Friday I wasn't going to comment on the lighting at MSG
One thing you can see about Marty from being there was how well he anticipated today. That was one of the top ten heroic goaltending performances I have ever seen.
Rangers played desperate the whole game. Trapped most of the game. We need to figure out the 5-3. My call was Rangers won the ice by a 60%-40% margin. And can we win a faceoff? That problem needs to be address before playoff time.
We miss Martin, Clarkson and Zubrus for sure. Need to get Salvador back with Greene. And we gotta find a center for Elias. He is being wasted.
Best lines of the night were the dude behind me who kept saying, "that f-ing Brodeur is so lucky." And on the way out, some guy in his business suit and trench coat turned to his friend and said, "the good news is that Brodeur can't last forever, he'll die soon enough and this franchise will be over."
BAHAHAHAHAHA
This game reminded me of Brodeur vs Belfour 2000 SCF

derek: ah, i think i was in 404. kinda nice how concessions are laid out up there but also if there's any line it has to be terrible.
also the ice at MSG is so bad, i don't know how they can't fix that
msweet: the devils trapped all game long as well.

ice that is like on the 6th floor is never going to be good... and maybe that's why they don't light the place so you can't see the bad ice
and yes I know the Devil's trapped too... I was pointing out the Rag$ trapping since Rag$ fans have be complaining about us trapping for years.

Devils: 45 SOG, 10 missed, 13 blocked (4 Staal) = 68 total
Rangers: 51 SOG, 17 missed, 16 blocked (5 Greene) = 84 total

It seems very odd to say this about a game where there were so many SOG, but I thought the Rangers were very good defensively. They short-circuited many of the Devils' attempts to get the cycle going. It was also hard work gaining the Ranger zone.
Someone in this thread commented that they don't know why Elias isn't playing center, and I agree. Rolston and Elias were not very good tonight, and neither was Dean McAmmond.
Pandolfo, the black hole on offense. That's a good description. ZZ Pops, great game by them as usual, particularly Zach and Jamie.
We were playing for the shootout with Mottau and White out there a lot in the OT. There was a lot of safe play there.
Both goalies were great, but there were a lot of easy saves for both guys. I was actually disappointed that the game had very little snarl.

The problem this created was lots of icetime for Johnny Oduya, who continues his trend of up and down play, both were seen in single shifts tonight.
"We always joke about it now," Madden said. "Jay tells me: 'You shut me down that game and you've been shutting me down ever since. The only problem is, now you're playing with me. ' "
