I know it's still two hours away but I figured might as well start the thread while I'm still here. I won't be around for the festivities this afternoon but I will tape it, and come here/and the front page for a summation of everything later :lol:

The New Jersey Devils win Stanley Cups everywhere:
-NHL record for most road wins in the playoffs - 10-1 in '95 and 10-2 in '00
-NHL record for most home wins in the playoffs - 12-1 in '03

To say that i trust Lou and Conte on draft day is an understatement. Best player available is fine with me...but the two second rounders is where i expect the Devils to get a steal in the draft.

Carolina traded David Tanabe and Igor Knyazev to Phoenix for Danny Markov and a conditional pick.

Interesting deal, Tanabe's a great skater but has shown little else, Knyazev is supposed to be a #4 or #5 defenseman.. and Markov is a solid defenseman who will take Glen Wesley's minutes.

Tanabe is a guy I thought would have had an impact by now. Talk about a big shot and wheels...I guess he still hasn't learned the NHL game.

Very surprising Phoenix dealt Markov, who's developing into a very good defenseman. That's one guy I bet the maple laughs would love to have back.

Tanabe is very overrated. He's got good speed but his puckhandling skills are poor and his shot never hits the net. He also wins the Tim Hunter award as the ugliest player in the NHL.

ESPN2 is joining with TSN to do the draft so for all you people in USA who don't get TSN..it looks TSN is running the draft for you guys today. I think you'll like it.

"The Stanley Cup has fallen from the Stars. The new millennium has its first Stanley Cup Champion, and it's the New Jersey Devils." Mike Miller calling the Devils winning the Stanley Cup.
